Shams reported that the Suns have reached a one-year contract with free agent Elfrid Payton.
According to Phoenix reporter John Gambadoro, Payton signed a veteran base salary.
Payton played for the Knicks last season, averaging 10.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
