At 7:40 a.m. on February 21, Ding Jian, a police officer at the First Detention Center in Jingzhou District, Jingzhou City, died of a sudden illness while on duty. At only 59 years old, he is forever fixed on his beloved job.

Ding Jian, male, born in October 1962, is a member of the Communist Party of China. In December 1985, he retired from the army to participate in public security work, and successively served as a clerk in the detention center of the Jiangling County Public Security Bureau, a clerk in the collection and trial office of the Jingzhou District Bureau of the Jingzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, and a second-level police chief of the First Detention Center in Jingzhou District, Jingzhou City.

Ding Jian, who has been a police officer for 35 years, is one of the discipline police officers with the longest working experience on the supervision front in Hubei Province. During this period, Ding Jian underwent two heart bypass surgeries. In the face of the obstacles set by the "high wall" of his body, he has never flinched, and in the small world of the prison, he has continuously explored humanized management methods, illuminated the life path of detainees with years of silent dedication, and helped the institute achieve 23 consecutive years of no safety liability accidents. During the epidemic prevention and control period, Ding Jian took the initiative to ask for help many times, undertook urgent, difficult, dangerous and heavy tasks, and made outstanding contributions to the "zero infection" of the epidemic situation in the institute. Because of his outstanding work performance, Ding Jian has been commended by the Jingzhou District Public Security Bureau and the "Personal Commendation" by the Jingzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau.

At present, the public security organs at both levels in Jingzhou City are making every effort to do a good job in the aftermath and appeasement.
