Lauren Cohan (born January 7, 1982)[1] is an Anglo-American,[2] actress best known for playing Maggie Green in the AMC post-apocalyptic horror television series The Walking Dead (2011–2018; 2020–present). Her other notable television roles include Bella Talbot in the dark fantasy series Supernatural (2007–2008), Rose in the paranormal teen drama The Vampire Diaries (2010–2012), Vivian MacArthur Volkov in the action comedy Chuck (2011) and Franciska's action comedy Frankie (Frankie) in the "Whiskey Rider" (2019). Her films include comedy Van Wilder: The Rise of the Taj Mahal (2006), the psychological thriller the horror film Boys (2016), the biopic All Eyez on Me (2017) and the action thriller 22 Miles (2018).

Cohan was born in Lauren Storholm in Cherry Hill, New Jersey to American father Paul Storholm and Scottish mother Susan Cohen (surnamed House), who is now divorced. Her father is of Irish and Norwegian descent and her mother is from the Scottish suburb of Newton Mearns in Glasgow. She grew up in New Jersey until she was 13 years old when her family moved to her mother's native Britain, settling in Surrey. In addition to Cherry Hill, Kohan lived in Georgia for a year before her family moved to the UK.

Lauren's surname was legally changed to that of her stepfather, Kohan, while her mother converted to Judaism when she remarried. Lauren Cohan converted to Judaism at the age of five and performed a bat rite of passage. In 2007, Kohan earned her first major supporting role — partly described as a season leader — when she played Bella Talbot in the third season of The Supernatural, she was a thief who procured valuable paranormal items and sold them to the supernatural world of very wealthy, very powerful people.
