  On April 4, the famous Korean chess player Kim In Jiudan died of illness at the age of 78.

  Kim In-kudan, a giant in the Korean Go world, won the championship in the 10th National Hand Battle in South Korea in 1966 and won the championship six times in 1971, and was respected by the Korean Go community as "Kim Kook-dan".

  Born in 1943 in Jeollanam-do, South Korea, Kim In joined the dan in 1958 and went to Japan in 1962 to study at the "Kiya Dojo" under the famous Japanese chess player Kitani Shimon.

  After returning to China in 1963, Jin Yin won a total of 30 championships and 22 runners-up in various Go tournaments, and was promoted to nine dan in 1983.

  Kim In became a professional chess player at the age of 15 and has been active in the Korean professional chess world for 63 years, leaving a record of 1568 wins, 860 wins, 5 draws and 703 defeats.

  Kim In-kudan set a 40-game winning streak in 1968 and is still the most consecutive win-winning record in the Korean Chess Academy. In addition, Kim In's 88.1% (37 wins, 1 draw and 5 defeats) win rate in 1967 and 87.72% (50 wins and 7 defeats) in 1968 were the 3rd and 4th highest annual win rates of the Korean Chess Academy.
