The "Carl Vinson" entered the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean and the aircraft carrier vacuum period

author:Observer.com

After two months of tossing and turning in the western Pacific, the US Navy's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier "Carl Vincent" to deploy F-35 fighter jets arrived in the Indian Ocean region, marking that the United States has entered a "aircraft carrier vacuum" in the Pacific region.

The U.S. Naval Association website confirmed on October 18 that the CARL Vinson arrived in the Indian Ocean region after the carl Vinson completed the second phase of exercise Malabar on October 17 on the British carrier "Elizabeth" and the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopter destroyer "Kaga", and then arrived near the Bay of Bengal, where the US aircraft carrier strike group received senior indian naval officials who came to visit.

On August 2, the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson departed from Naval Base San Diego for deployment in the Pacific For deployment in Asia. The USS Carl Vinson carried a squadron of 12 F-35C fighters and cmV-22B Osprey rotorcraft, the first U.S. aircraft carrier to carry a 5th generation aircraft for deployment.

After arriving in in the Indo-Pacific Sea, the aircraft carrier Carl 'Vinson' interacted frequently with the navies of Britain, Japan, Australia, South Korea and other countries, and entered the waters around the South China Sea several times. On October 1, in the Philippine Sea area, the United States, Britain, Japan, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and other six countries organized the "six countries and three aircraft carriers" exercise, and more than 17 ships of various types on the surface participated in the exercise. This is the first time since 2017 that the United States has assembled three aircraft carriers for the exercise. Then, on October 4, satellites captured the 21st Carrier Strike Group of the British carrier Queen Elizabeth and the U.S. Navy's Carl Vinson sailing westward through the Bashi Strait into the South China Sea.

However, despite the "huge momentum" of the six-nation exercise, the "patchwork" of the US military's current round of exercises means obvious, because of the three aircraft carriers participating in this round, the "Reagan" has entered the end of the current round of deployment, and returned to Japan's Yokosuka Naval Base for routine maintenance around October 10 after the end of the exercise. The Queen Elizabeth will also begin sailing to the Indian Ocean after the end of this round of exercises, preparing to end this round of global voyages and return to the British mainland.

Subsequently, the only U.S. aircraft carrier remaining in the Indo-Pacific was the USS Carl Vinson, the only aircraft carrier in the U.S. Navy that is currently in deployment. At present, the USS Truman aircraft carrier of the U.S. Navy is expected to travel to Europe and the Middle East.
