Boating on the Li River to enjoy the landscape of the world, encountering Chinese white dolphins in the waters of Sanniang Bay, and having a "whale joy" encounter on Weizhou Island in the North Sea... Which one do you love more?

Southern April, fragrant and fragrant. Eight gui land, full of life.

On the afternoon of the 25th, General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed when listening to the report on the comprehensive management and ecological protection of the Li River Basin at the Yangdi Wharf of the Li River in Yangshuo County, Guilin City, that the ecological environment should not be damaged. Four years ago, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out during his inspection in Guangxi that "Guangxi's ecological advantages will not be changed.".

In recent years, Guangxi, which sits on a large river, facing the sea and densely covered with mountains, has kept in mind the entrustment of the general secretary, solidly promoted the construction of ecological civilization, and guarded the most inclusive people's livelihood and well-being of a good ecological environment.

A river: water quality in the country's top ten, Guangxi accounted for six

"God in the clouds, immortals in the fog,

The mountains of Guilin!

Love is as deep as it is, dreams are as beautiful,

Like the water of the Dream Li River!

……”

The poet He Jingzhi dreamed of the landscapes and rivers of Guilin.

"The water of the Li River is clearer than in previous years." Chen Xuwen, a raft worker who has been living along the Li River, said. Behind him, raft after raft marched through the blue water, and from time to time you could see egrets flying.

The Li River, like an ink landscape painting, has also been plagued by pollution: sand quarrying, indiscriminate logging, industrial wastewater and domestic sewage discharge... At one point, the Li River was discolored.

We must resolutely protect this beautiful scenery on earth! Vigorously promote key projects such as sewage treatment projects and world natural heritage protection projects, continue to carry out environmental governance actions such as shutting down quarries and farms, and issue a series of documents such as the Regulations on the Protection of the Ecological Environment of the Li River Basin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region...... Under the treatment of both the symptoms and the root causes, the beauty of the past is restored in front of you.

As an important industrial town in southwest China, Liuzhou's water quality ranked first in the country in the first quarter of this year. "Four wild mountains stand, and one water embraces the city." In spring, the Bauhinia bauhinia on the shore of the Willow River is in full bloom, and the Jiangbin Park, Yaobu Ancient Town, and The Flying Waterfall along the river bank jointly create a "high-value" 100-mile gallery.

Locals have not forgotten that Liuzhou is known as the "capital of acid rain": "It is difficult to find a clean place on the clothes after work in the workshop", "Bicycles are easy to rust when placed outside"... Pain changes! Through strict rectification and efforts to promote industrial quality upgrading, Liuzhou has realized the harmonious coexistence of large industry and the beautiful environment.

Nanning Nakao River Wetland Park in the beautiful banana flowers are in full bloom, the river is clear. "The air is good and the environment is beautiful, and I come to exercise every day." Tang Zudong, a citizen of Nanning who is nearly seventy years old, said.

Who would have thought that the Nakao River was once a "stinky ditch" with more than 50 sewage outlets along the river. After treatment, the ecological pattern of "mountains and rivers are interdependent, urban water is integrated, and people and water are close" has been initially formed here, and has become a sample of black and odorous water treatment and "sponge city" construction.

The Li River, Liu River and Yong River belong to the Xijiang River Basin. Guangxi Xijiang, which connects Yunnan-Guizhou, runs through Guangxi, and east of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, is an important part of the Pearl River system, with a basin area of about 202,000 square kilometers in Guangxi, and about 80% of the cities and counties and about 90% of the population of Guangxi along the coast. By actively promoting water environment governance, we will build a linkage and coordination mechanism for the prevention and control of water pollution in the river basin to ensure that the clear water of a river flows to a "clear" flow.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment informed that in the national water environment quality ranking of the surface water assessment section of cities at the prefecture level and above from January to March this year, 10 cities along the Xijiang River ranked among the top 30 in the country, of which 6 cities ranked among the top 10.

A Bay of Sea: Wild and Spiritual Cohabitation

In the blue bay of the Gulf of Tonkin, the power of life surges everywhere.

In recent years, the residents of Weizhou Island in the North Sea have been "whales are happy" - Bu's whales come here to hunt, and some also "take babies" to travel. This is the first large cetacean population to be discovered off the coast of China since 1980. "The survey shows that the overall ecological environment protection here is better." Chen Mo, an associate researcher at the Guangxi Academy of Sciences, said.

In the submarine restoration area of Weizhou Island, more than 10,000 artificially planted corals have grown healthily, and many of the corals that were once broken have grown from 10 cm to 30 cm. Behind this is the careful care of a group of coral "daddies". Researchers cultivate various types of coral "babies" in the laboratory and release them in the waters of Weizhou Island after they "grow up".

The blue waves of Sanniang Bay in Qinzhou are rippling, and white, pink and ink-colored Chinese white dolphins chase and play. Many years ago, the local government planned to build a large shipyard here, but in order to protect the habitat of the "marine giant panda", the plan was finally revised and a "lifeline" for the protection of the Chinese white dolphin was drawn.

Nowadays, encountering pink dolphins, which symbolize love, has become a "small luck" that is more and more frequent for tourists to go to sea. Based on more than 300 observations and calculations, the Research Team of Peking University found that the number of Chinese white dolphins in this area is on the rise.

In order to guard the "clean sea" of a bay, Guangxi continues to promote the cleaning and rectification of sewage outlets into the sea, coastal cities block the sewage outlets into the sea, and also delineate marine ecological red lines. Since 2012, the quality of seawater in the coastal waters of Guangxi has continued to be excellent.

"I really didn't expect such a big change." In January this year, the Fengjiajiang Wetland Park, located in the heart of Beihai City, was officially opened to the public free of charge, and Pan Runlian, who has lived near Fengjiajiang for many years, experienced the dilemma of the city's "green lung" in the past, "In the past few years, some sections of the river were surrounded by shrimp ponds, pig farms, and sewage outlets, and the smell was very heavy. "In order to fundamentally improve the ecology, Beihai upgraded the treatment of the Fengjia River, which was once full of sewage, to a wetland park." Through a combination of natural restoration and artificial restoration, mangrove cover within the wetland increased by 10%, and the number of birds increased from 136 in 2017 to 171.

"Clear water, green shore, clean beach, beautiful bay", Beibu Bay has bred a wide variety of fish, shrimp, shellfish and other seafood, and has also attracted "guests" from all over the world. This area is home to the largest bay mangrove forest in the country, and thousands of egrets come to nest and breed every year, making this ecological landscape a unique tourist attraction in the Beibu Gulf.

(Subtitle) A mountain: green is the brightest "undertone"

"Mountains and rocks are more deep, and it is difficult to survive without soil and water." More than 60 years ago, guangxi had a forest coverage rate of only 23%. Through continuous love of greenery and greening, Guangxi's forest coverage rate has steadily increased, and now ranks third in the country; the plantation forest area exceeds 130 million mu, ranking first in the country.

With the onset of a severe drought, villages in rocky desertification areas are babbling water – the ecological changes in Nong Latun in Mashan County have attracted much attention. Local villagers have tasted the bitter fruit of ecological deterioration due to indiscriminate logging, and later put down their axe machetes, formulated village rules and regulations, and actively planted trees and forests, so that "stone nests" became "green nests", and eco-tourism was booming.

After continuous scientific management, more and more mountainous areas have now been freed from the "cancer of the earth" of rocky desertification. From 2011 to 2016 alone, the land area of rocky desertification in Guangxi decreased by 387,200 hectares, with a reduction rate of 20.2%. The local government has also explored more than 10 kinds of mixed afforestation models such as "bamboo + ren bean" and "ren bean + honeysuckle", and built more than 100 demonstration sites for the comprehensive treatment of rocky desertification, and the development momentum of under-forest economy and ecological agriculture is gaining momentum.

Forests are ours and they are. Nowadays, the greenery of Banli Township, Jiangzhou District, Chongzuo City, is getting thicker, and between the rugged karst stone mountains, groups of monkeys jump in the woods, which is the habitat paradise of the "Stone Mountain Spirit" white-headed langur. As a national-level key protected wild animal unique to China, the population of white-headed langurs once plummeted to more than 300.

Establishment of nature reserves, construction of exclusive ecological corridors... Sheltered in the green, they are no longer disturbed, and the population is growing year by year. The latest data show that the population of white-headed langurs has increased to more than 1200.

At present, Guangxi has established 224 different types of nature reserves, with a total area of more than 2.2 million hectares, accounting for about 9.3% of Guangxi's land area, effectively protecting more than 90% of the species in Guangxi.

"Shhh, don't talk, the birds are coming." In the village of Nonggang in Longzhou County, on the border between China and Vietnam, the identity of farmer Nong Weihong became a "bird guide". The Nonggang National Nature Reserve adjacent to Nonggang Village is a "bird paradise", with more than 200 species of birds living in Nonggang, such as the Nonggang spike and the Indochinese green magpie.

After sprinkling some yellow mealworms next to the small puddle on the rock in advance, Nong Weihong whistled, and the melodious sound penetrated the dense forest. He can use whistles to imitate the calls of more than a dozen birds, and the birds are "on call".

Nowadays, in the land of Bagui, ecological advantages have been transformed into a driving force for economic development, and the road to green development that practices the "two mountains" theory is getting wider and wider. (End)
