Shen Jinbo sang "Xiaoyaojin" - father and son wept sadly in the palace courtyard

Before uploading the recording, let me first say two anecdotes about Mr. Shen Jinbo:

1. An anecdote with Zhang Chunqiao and Kang Sheng

Shen Jinbo often met with Zhang Chunqiao, who was in charge of Shanghai's cultural and educational work at the Shanghai Opera House at the Shanghai Opera House, and according to his recollection, there is a story: In the late 1960s, at a reception event in the Great Hall of the People, Kang Sheng heard me call Zhang Chunqiao as Secretary Zhang and asked Zhang Chunqiao: Why do they all call you Secretary Zhang? Zhang Chunqiao explained that before the "Cultural Revolution," I was the secretary of culture and education of the Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee, and I went to the Shanghai Peking Opera House to catch model plays at two ends of the three days, and everyone called me Secretary Zhang. Kang Sheng immediately said to Zhang Chunqiao: Do you know what a secretary is? The secretary is the dog-headed military division in the feudal yamen in history. Shen Jinbo took this matter as a joke at the time and relayed it to everyone.

Second, men dress up as women to play palace women

In the winter of 1953, Shen Jinbo went to Korea with the people's condolence group of the motherland led by Marshal He Long to perform for the volunteer soldiers. In the cold of minus 40 degrees, on the front line with bullet marks, the actors ignored the fierce wind and roared, and were not afraid of cold artillery air raids, and insisted on condolence performance. During those days, Shen Jinbo and Cheng Yanqiu co-starred in "He Hou Scolding Hall" and "Three High-Fives", and starred in "Erjin Palace". Due to the shortage of actors, he also played a palace girl in Mei Lanfang's "Noble Concubine Drunk", which became the only performance of men dressed as women in his artistic career.
