On August 28, 2021, "Chunhua Qiushi: Li Geng Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition and New Bookmark Sale" opened at Beijing Chanxi Tea Art Space. In this season of autumn, we yongqiu, nianchun, more than 40 paintings of Mr. Li Geng's calligraphy and painting works collected by Li Kejian Painting Institute met with friends at the Chanxi Tea Art Space, and the art festival "Chunhua Qiushi" was just in time.

Mr. Li Geng adheres to his family's learning and has profound artistic accomplishment. He studied painting with his father, Mr. Li Keyan, since childhood, and later studied under artists such as Huang Guan, Huang Miaozi and Huang Yongyu. Since the 1980s, he has been invited to live in Dongying for a long time, and has penetrated the core of artistic creation with the rigor of scholars, and has continuously observed and understood the similarities and differences between classical and modern, East and West with a global perspective. The ink paintings in this exhibition are the crystallization of Mr. Li Geng's decades of "obsession". Mr. Li Geng is especially good at creating a situation from the heart and transporting the heart with his hands. Ink opera, free and appropriate, is very ancient and ancient, and the abstract expression of transcendent objects and images adds contemporary vitality to it. Ink flowers and birds show the elegance of life, and Jiaohua landscapes are meteorological, and the pen is like a sense of music and frustration. Just as the so-called "calligraphy and painting are of the same origin", the calligraphy art of Mr. Li Geng presented in this exhibition is the finishing touch to the study of his pen and ink method. The books and paintings are mutually referenced, which is enough to make the viewer's eyes follow Mr. Li Geng's Danqing to open a rhythm that leads to the heavens and the earth. His pen and ink grammar rationality and sensibility coexist, and the wisdom of returning to the basics, optimism and open-mindedness originates from the end of the pen.

The exhibition "Chunhua Qiushi" will also present the signing party of "Rongde Treasures: Li Geng's Collection of Calligraphy and Paintings" inscribed by Mr. Shao Dazhen, a giant in the art history world, with the title and preface. The book systematically and academically presents Mr. Li Geng's creative trends in recent years. This exhibition is curated by Ms. Yu Zhen, a well-known curator and founder of Zenxi. At the beginning of 2021, chanxi tea art space under the leadership of Ms. Yu Zhen is committed to promoting the artistic masterpieces of Shangguyi but not stuck to ancient methods, combining art with the pure and natural magic of the tea room to create an infinite meaning and a remote humanistic realm. The exhibition is hosted by Chanxi Tea Art Space and Rongde Gallery, and co-organized by Beijing Yuntong Xing Benz 4S Center.

About the artist
Li Geng was born in Beijing in 1950, and Mr. Qi Baishi was named "Geng". President of Li Keyan Painting Institute, Academic Member of Li Keyan Art Foundation, President of Heshan Painting Society of China Artists Association, Researcher of National Academy of Painting of China, Honorary Curator of Beijing Art Museum of Taras Shevchenko. Since 1986, he has been invited to be a professor and researcher at Kyoto University of Plastic Arts in Japan and has been engaged in artistic creation and academic practice at home and abroad for a long time.
