On September 25th, the "Green Family Natural Children's Walk - 2021 Children's Nature Art Season" was officially launched in Shenzhen OCT National Wetland Park. The event will last until the end of December, through the four major sections of "Seeing Nature", "Learning Nature", "Theory of Nature" and "Creation of Nature", we will promote the participation of families in green and environmentally friendly nature experience services in various forms of big coffee forums and workshops. Liu Lei, secretary of the party group of the Shenzhen Women's Federation, attended the event, and she previously served as deputy secretary of the Longhua District Party Committee.
Led by the children's nature interpreter, Liu Lei and other guests visited the Natural Museum and Zero Waste Garden in OCT Wetland Park, watched the puppet show "Bookish China", and unveiled the natural art installation recreated by recycling natural objects and waste.
Liu Lei said that with the opportunity of building a "child-friendly city", Shenzhen has built more than 1,000 parks of various types and gradually increased and improved facilities such as children's activity spaces and natural education; with the "Looking for the Most Beautiful Family" activity as the carrier, excavating and selecting various advanced models such as green families. In April this year, it also jointly launched the local standard of "Green Family Evaluation Code" with the Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment.
"OCT Wetland Park has allowed more than 800 species of animals and plants to find a habitat in a highly developed international city, organized the first nature school in Shenzhen, and created a coastal ecological museum in the middle of the city for children and families in Shenzhen, which is very rare." Liu Lei said that children and nature have a natural connection, the feeling and integration of the environment is more sensitive and delicate than adults, and hopes to mobilize more families and children to consciously practice a sustainable lifestyle of zero waste through activities.
"Let us strive to be green family advocates, integrate ecological civilization education into daily family education, and train children to establish the concept of green life from an early age; strive to be green family practitioners, adopt a simple and moderate, green and low-carbon lifestyle, save water and electricity, do not waste food, reduce the use of disposable plastic products, and travel green; strive to be green family demonstrators, establish a sense of urban ownership, lead more families to integrate into the creation of green families, and form a new trend of advocating green life." Liu Lei appealed.
Shenzhen proposed to build a child-friendly city in 2015, and as of August 2021, the city has built 360 child-friendly bases of various types (201 at the municipal level and 159 at the district level); 1142 mother and baby rooms in public places (108 at the municipal level), covering public places such as transportation hubs, government service centers, parks, and commercial centers.
The "Green Family, Natural Children's Walk" nature education project launched by the Shenzhen Women's Federation, undertaken by the Shenzhen Hua Foundation Ecological and Environmental Protection Foundation, has carried out a number of natural projects such as "Zero Waste Project Practice", "Hua Ecological Lecture Hall", "Hua Green Forum", "China Nature Classroom Plan", and through the "National Nature Capacity Building Project", 106 nature schools have been supported and aided for 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) across the country, providing a place for young children and young people across the country to experience nature education.
On the same day, the Shenzhen Chen Chunhua family, which won the "Top Ten Excellent Books" in Guangdong Province, shared their family style stories of loving reading and promoting public welfare reading. Xiao Zhiyi, a senior designer and tutor of the wood art course, organized a natural art workshop experience activity, where parent-child families used natural objects or wastes such as dead wood that fell from nature and branches trimmed by garden workers to make plant explanatory signs, and participated in the production of 5 natural art installations such as balance beams, deck chairs, perches, bird forests, and insect houses, experiencing the cross-border between nature and art, and feeling the changes, balances and cycles of natural laws.
