Common classification and treatment of arrhythmias

author:Dr. Zheng Lihui

Arrhythmias are "abnormal heartbeat" diseases, and patients will have symptoms of panic, chest tightness and shortness of breath, and even blackness in front of their eyes. What are the classifications of common arrhythmias? In simple terms, it is divided into tachyarrhythmias and bradythmias.

In simple terms, tachyarrhythmia is a rapid heartbeat arrhythmia, common including paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (supraventricular tachycardia), atrial tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, atrial morning, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular early, etc.

On the contrary, bradyarrhythmias, which are arrhythmias with slowed heartbeat, commonly include sick sinus syndrome, sinus bradycardia, sinus arrest, atrioventricular block, etc., which will slow down the heartbeat.

In general, tachyarrhythmias can be treated with antiarrhythmic drugs or minimally invasive radiofrequency ablation surgery. Bradyarrhythmias are generally treated with limited or insurable efficacy, and in severe cases, permanent pacemakers may be implanted. For ventricular tachycardia, the ventricular tachycardia may be malignant in some patients, and prolonged seizures affect vital signs, resulting in a drop in blood pressure, or life-threatening, requiring the implantation of a reversal defibrillator (ICD) to terminate the ventricular tachycardia and save lives.

In addition, it has recently been found that some young patients develop bradyarrhythmias, such as sinus bradycardia, which may be related to increased autonomic tone, and can be improved by eliminating vagus nerve tone through radiofrequency ablation therapy.
