Chairman Mao was very angry when he learned of this and immediately ordered Huang Kegong's execution, but just as he was rushing to the execution ground, many intercessing letters were sent one after another, and for a time the small cave could not tolerate the face of intercession.

So who is Huang Kegong? Why would he kill his once beloved girlfriend? In the face of the intercession of the crowd, will the chairman's execution order turn around?

In this issue, we will talk about this shocking case of forced marriage and murder of the regimental commander.

The scene of the crime

One night on October 5, 1937, the originally silent Yanhe River suddenly heard a quarrel, and the sound became louder and louder.

Only to see a man say emotionally: "I love you so much, why don't you marry me?" ”

The woman standing in front of you replied in disgust: "I wrote to you before that our love should be based on a common understanding, but now it seems that we do not, I do not want to marry you, I have this right." ”

After some argument, the two quarreled more and more fiercely, and the woman turned her head and was about to leave. This obviously angered the man in front of him, only to see that his eyes were full of anger, his hands were green and violent, and for a moment he did not know how to vent, so he raised the pistol pinned to his waist and had followed him on the battlefield.

When the woman saw him draw his gun, she not only did not have the slightest fear, but also said more emotionally: 'You fight, you have the ability to kill me, and I will not marry you anyway.' ’

Before the woman could finish speaking, she was hit by two bullets in the waist, and she looked at the man in front of her in disbelief, and then fell into a pool of blood.

The man who fired the gun was also very panicked at this moment, and he stood in the same place for a long time before he came back to his senses, he had just killed someone. Although this was not the first time he had killed people, he had also commanded thousands of soldiers on the battlefield, and countless lives had been shot. But at this time, he seemed a little overwhelmed, because he was not killing a reactionary this time, but his lover.

Huang Kegong and Liu Qian

And to talk about this case, we have to mention his protagonist, Huang Kegong.

Who is Huang Kegong?

Huang Kegong's life can be summed up in eight words: revolutionary hero, murderer.

Born in 1911 in Nankang, Jiangxi, he followed Mao Zedong through the struggle in the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base Area at the age of 16, officially joined the Communist Party of China at the age of 19, and participated in the 'anti-encirclement and suppression' wars to defend the Central Soviet Region many times.

During the 25,000-mile Long March of the Red Army, Huang Kegong personally led his troops and marched through the night in the bitter cold, racing against the clock. Finally, he arrived at the battle site at the moment of a thousand gunshots, defeated the invading enemy one by one, and established the first merit of the great victory of Loushan Pass

After the Red Army arrived in northern Shaanxi, Huang Kegong was designated as a key training object for repeated qigong, and was appointed as the captain of the 16th Anti-Japanese Brigade in Yan'an. Perhaps he was entrusted with a heavy responsibility at a young age, or perhaps his achievements in the battlefield made him complacent, and since arriving in Yan'an, Huang Kegong began to be proud of his achievements and was very arrogant.

It was at this time that he met the heroine Liu Qian, who was shot and killed. Liu Qian is a native of Shanxi, with outstanding looks and cheerfulness. At that time, when she was not yet 16 years old, she was influenced by the revolutionary trend and came to Yan'an to study at the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University, and the instructor at this time was Huang Kegong.

At the beginning, Liu Qian, like many sixteen and seventeen-year-old girls, had a hero worship plot, and for Huang Kegong, a hero who had fought countless battles in his twenties, Liu Qian was naturally very fond of him.

Huang Kegong is young and promising, Liu Qian has an outstanding temperament, and soon the two fell in love at first sight. Especially in long-term work contacts, the two often exchange letters, and their feelings suddenly warmed up, and they soon became lovers.

But unfortunately, it was not long, and soon the contradictions and discord between the two were exposed.

Why kill Liu Qian?

Liu Qian has received a good education since childhood, and although Huang Kegong has made meritorious contributions on the battlefield, his achievements in cultural level are really not flattering, perhaps the difference in cultural level, so the interests and hobbies of the two and the way of talking are very different.

Soon, the shortcomings and problems of Huang Kegong's body were gradually exposed. Rude, reckless, and extremely conceited. Perhaps because he had been fighting and killing on the battlefield since he was a child, and did not know how to please women, Huang Kegong expressed his love to Liu Qian only by sending money and allowances and silver dollars.

The so-called three views are different, and there is no need to be strongly integrated. For this issue, Liu Qian has also mentioned many times in the letter, she wrote to Huang Kegong that love is not based on material, but must have the same three views and consciousness to each other, otherwise the two cannot last.

Soon after the establishment of The Northern Shaanxi Public School, Liu Qian, as an intellectual youth, was incorporated into the Northern Shaanxi Public School. Perhaps because of the distance, the relationship between the two has undergone some more subtle changes.

After the initial passion, Liu Qian began to slowly calm down, began to contact more of the outside world, and also realized her disagreement with Huang Kegong, so she gradually began to distance herself from Huang Kegong through distance.

In addition, after arriving in northern Shaanxi at that time, liu qian's people around him were all intellectuals and young talents, and it was inevitable that some rumors would come out. And these news soon reached Huang Kegong's ears.

Huang Kegong was originally very possessive, and after hearing these rumors, he was even more jealous and angry, and he quickly found Liu Qian and asked her to marry him immediately, and then have a child and teach her husband and children at home.

Not to mention that Liu Qian, who had received a new-style education, strongly opposed this behavior, and she was under eighteen years old in terms of her age at the time, so Liu Qian bluntly refused Huang Kegong's request. This made Huang Kegong even more angry and corrupt, and he decided that Liu Qian wanted to betray him.

After returning to school, Liu Qian had more contacts with young men, although they were all exchanges at work, but Huang Kegong could not see the slightest, so he finally couldn't help but erupt.

On the evening of October 5, Huang Kegong found Liu Qian again and offered to talk to her alone, and Huang Kegong had only one purpose for this trip, that is, to make Liu Qian promise to marry him. But what Huang Kegong did not expect was that no matter what he said, Liu Qian was always just a word, and his words were full of disgust, and even said that he was a rogue bandit who forced marriage.

Liu Qian's words completely angered the man in front of him, so there was the opening scene, the angry and corrupt Huang Kegong actually fired two shots in a row, and Liu Qian also died on the spot.

The sound of gunfire soon alarmed the school and the students, and many indignant and enthusiastic young people launched a call to huang Kegong to kill people.

Kill or stay?

Due to Huang Kegong's high level, the forced marriage and murder case was unheard of, so the news spread in a short period of time, and the people throughout Yan'an were talking about it. At that time, the voices of the masses mainly accounted for two factions, one faction advocating severe punishment and the other being those who redeemed their merits.

Those who advocate severe punishment believe that Huang Kegong, as an old revolutionary predecessor, forcibly married and brutally killed the other party, which is a violation of the law. Moreover, at this time, we are also in a period of serious party style and party discipline, and if we do not severely punish them, it will only make some other cadres who praise themselves for their hard work and merits do more whatever they want and have no law.

The other faction believes that although Huang Kegong has committed a felony, he is also a revolutionary hero who has shed blood and made meritorious contributions, after all, he has made meritorious contributions. Moreover, now we are in a period of crisis, the so-called thousand troops are easy to obtain, one will be difficult to seek, if you kill Huang Kegong again, it will be a loss of the revolutionary cause, it is better to tell him to go to the front line to kill the enemy, and to atone for his sins.

Kill or stay? The controversy soon reached Mao's ears. But surprisingly, this time Mao Zedong seemed to have no old feelings in mind, and he said very angrily: What is the problem? If such people do not kill, are we still the Communist Party?

There is no doubt that Mao Zedong's attitude toward this matter was very resolute, and it was necessary to severely punish the party style. However, Huang Kegong's merits are also vividly remembered, and the dozen or so scars left on his body for the revolutionary cause are really unbearable, and many people still come to intercede for Huang Kegong.

Liu Yalou, who has always been known for his fiery temper, was one of them, and it is said that at that time, liu Yalou immediately wrote to Chairman Mao after reprimanding Huang Kegong: Huang Kegong can work alone, he can open up a situation in a county or a district, not to mention one Liu Qian, even if it is ten or a hundred Liu Qian's credits, it is not worth Huang Kegong.

At that time, the Japanese army attacked the Central Plains on a large scale, and it was the time to use troops, and this regimental commander who had killed decisively on the battlefield may have only been blinded by anger for a while, and it was really a crime that did not lead to death. And from a longer-term perspective, without a good commander, how many soldiers will be sacrificed on the battlefield? And how many people will suffer?

Even Mao Zedong's lover He Zizhen cried and interceded for Huang Kegong, giving him a chance to redeem his merits, even if he died on the battlefield, it was better than being shot at the execution ground.

Even Huang Kegong himself said: I am willing to take a machine gun as a death squad, so that the overseer team can stare at me from behind, and I only hope to die on the battlefield against the enemy.

Many letters of intercession for Huang Kegong came one after another, and Mao Zedong's small office could not even accommodate these pleading faces. In this regard, Mao Zedong once again made it clear that no matter how much huang Kegong's merits were, if he killed someone, he would have to be shot. We can deal with foreign aggression together, we can also treat ourselves severely, and we want everyone in the whole world to see how the Chinese Communist Party deals with party members who have made mistakes according to law.

On October 10, Mao Zedong also wrote a handwritten letter on Huang Kegong's case, in which he mentioned that the party and the people would remember Huang Kegong's past merits, but now he has committed a heinous crime as a Communist Party member, and if he is not severely punished, it is really difficult to warn Comrade Liu Qian and his family, and at the same time hopes that all Communists and all revolutionary fighters will take Huang Kegong as a lesson for the future.

After hearing this letter, Huang Kegong also silently lowered his head and rushed to the execution site two days later. Before his death, he was still shouting with his arms raised: Long live the Chinese Communist Party.

Huang Kegong's death is indeed a pity, he could have become a generation of famous generals, but because of a momentary impulse buried in the love of his children, he was called by later generations as "beating Loushan Pass, but unable to pass the women's pass".

Chairman Mao's selflessness and ruthlessness are in stark contrast to the nationalist military. I still remember that after Zhang Lingfu killed his wife at that time, he was convicted by Chiang Kai-shek and acquitted.

I have to say that the Communist Party of China really enforces the law strictly and will be punished for violating the law. And this may be the secret of the party's eternal youth.
