"Diary of a Bad Boy" mainly tells the story of a family torn apart by war. The father left the family because he joined the army, and the mother then took the two children to the grandmother's house in the countryside. In the days of the country, the two of them began to beat and kill each other, and they did everything god did not want to see, just to survive.
Released in 2013, the film is based on the novel of the same name by Hungarian writer Jagota Christophe, directed by Janno Sass. The film was selected for the top nine best foreign language films at the 86th Academy Awards on behalf of Hungary. Because the film itself carries the idea of high meaning, it won the European Film Award and the Crystal Globe Award at the 48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the same year after its release.
Many authors interpret this film as a "self-reliant" subject, but I don't think so. I feel that this film is an "alternative anti-war film" that the director wants to convey his ideas through the fragmentation of a family education. Aren't the bad guys who appear in the film devastated by war? Why did the son finally learn to separate at the sacrifice of his father because of the war?
So I think the way a film brings ideas to the audience has never been just conveyed through the plot, and with the continuous development of the film industry, we should pay more attention to things other than the plot.

The former is that the two brothers want to remember the warmth in their mother's envelope, but they are forced by reality to suppress their inner desires and give the audience a sense of fear and sympathy; the latter is that the two brothers feel the maid's mother-like care in the chaotic world, but they want to kill her for better friends, so that the audience can more clearly feel their inner contradictions and struggles.
Such an alternative camera reversal was actually deliberately arranged by director Janno Sass, who wanted to bring a visual accent to the audience through the huge contrast between the two children. What has changed? We go back to the first shot, where the chicken they killed was the first time they killed it.
