Lop Nur is the world's famous "Sea of Death", no man's land and "dry pole", which is a barren land that is not suitable for human survival.
However, according to the Xinjiang Daily on June 17, in the hinterland of Lop Nur, researchers spent eight years to build nearly 20,000 square meters of green landscape, bringing green hope to the "forbidden area of life".

People always think of "Loulan" when mentioning Lop Nur and 1700 years ago, the ancient country of Loulan mysteriously disappeared. In 1900, the Swedish, geographer and explorer Sven Hedin discovered the ruins of the ancient city.
The Loulan beauty Princess Xiaohe unearthed here still attracts the attention of the world.
The reason for the disappearance of Loulan country, the global drought is the background, the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the warm and humid air flow of the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean is difficult to reach here, the drought is gradually aggravated, coupled with human destruction of the ecological balance of nature, interception of water, over-reclamation, etc., eventually leading to the drying up of the entire lake.
The climate in the Lop Nur region is hot, with a maximum temperature of more than 40 degrees Celsius in summer, and only more than 30 millimeters of precipitation per year, but evaporation is as high as more than 3,000 millimeters.
Winds are strong all year round, with high winds from June to August, often causing sandstorms. When the wind strikes, the flowing sand ridges and sand dunes roll forward, the sand grains fly in the sky, the sky is dark, and the windy days above level 8 can last for more than 2 months in Lop Nur and the climate is extremely harsh.
By the middle of the last century, Lop Nur had dried up completely.
After Lop Nur dried up, the surrounding ecological environment underwent great changes, herbaceous plants almost all died, sand guards poplar trees died in pieces, the desert continued to advance, Lop Nur soon merged with the vast Taklamakan Desert, becoming a "sea of death" with no grass, described as "no birds in the sky, no grass on the ground, salt shells as a barrier, wind blowing sand and stones running".
In the past two years, there has been news of the "resurrection" of Lop Nur on the Internet, and some people say that a green lake has appeared in Lop Nur .
In fact, this is the process of refining potassium salts, people extract and store a liquid called "brine". The natural environment of Lop Nur is just in line with the needs of brine storage, and the brine pumped out at the same time eventually flows to Lop Nur .
The "resurrection" of Lop Nur is due to the high concentration of brine itself and the slow evaporation, so Lop Nur has slowly become a saltwater lake of about 200 square kilometers.
But how can such a lake and a saline desert with no grass appear 20,000 square meters of green space?
This green space is located in the deep Lop Nur enterprise factory area (SDIC Luo Potassium), mentioning enterprises, it is always easy to associate with "modernization" and "destruction of the environment", but the researchers of this company have built 20,000 square meters of green space in 8 years, which is really surprising.
Nowadays, this area has become a "paradise" in Lop Nur, and there are 45 kinds of plants such as sand dates, tamarind willows, wolfberries, etc. in the green area, and even the invisible birds above Lop Nur have come here to inhabit, all thanks to which Chinese researchers, it is because of their unremitting efforts that they have today's bright green.
This work has been underway for several years and has improved the local ecological environment. In fact, this plan has also benefited the staff of the enterprise, improved their working environment, living environment, and also played a role in regulating the local climate. After all, no one wants to get up every day to see the yellow sand in the sky, and every day they face a desolate scene.
After the launch of the plan, the air quality has improved year by year, and the phenomenon of sand and dust has also decreased year by year. Similarly, this green space also plays a reference role in the treatment of saline-alkali land in extreme environments, providing a positive sample.
The "potash" mentioned above is also an important part of planting green space. It is precisely because Lop Nur contains this scarce mineral resource that it will attract related enterprises to develop here. Later, there were researchers who came here to study, and only then did they see the current "green space".
Although 20,000 square meters looks like a small place in the eyes of many people, it is the result of several years of hard work, and its practical significance is not understood simply by looking at the green area. Looking at the Yellow Sand Gobi and the desert with thick saline layers, almost no one can imagine the appearance of plants growing on it, but all this has become a reality.
The sea of death gives birth to the green of life, which is gratifying and even more emotional, and it enlightens us that to understand the dialectical relationship between man and nature, to ignore nature, to plunder nature, to destroy nature, and to fight against the laws of nature, it can only bring nature's revenge on human beings and leave a painful lesson in history; on the basis of respecting the laws of nature, rationally using nature and transforming nature, human beings can harvest the gifts of nature and coexist in harmony with nature.
Lop Nur was once inhabited and lush with water and grass. However, due to excessive reclamation and other reasons, the vast smoke wave of Lop Nur eventually became a salt ze, and the once prosperous Loulan eventually escaped the fate of being buried under the quicksand of thousands of acres, which became the absolute sound of history.
The dialectical relationship between man and nature and between man and society is the eternal theme of human society. Human beings produce, live and develop in their interaction with nature. A history of the development of human civilization is a history of the relationship between man and nature.
Man and nature are a community of life. Countless facts tell us that when the ecology prospers, civilization prospers, and when the ecology declines, civilization declines. Nowadays, Lop Nur has grown a green color, allowing us to see that the understanding of this dialectical relationship has been continuously deepened in the process of people's practice.
So far, Lop Nur researchers have not stopped the pace of opening up green space, perhaps in the future, let Lop Nur become an oasis, maybe it can really be realized, then let us wait and see. "Barren land" deep in Lop Nur and "long" out of several square meters of green space?
