In general, the emotions that military personnel build up during their service are very deep. However, most of these comrades will part ways after retiring, rarely seeing each other or even never seeing each other again.
A British soldier made a seemingly unusual friend while serving in the Middle East, but when he retired, they had to separate. However, he did not want to leave this companion, so he began the following story:

After two trips to Afghanistan, Sean Ledlaw thinks he can accept anything that comes across in Syria. However, in 2018, the British army placed Sean and his companions in the Royal Sapper Unit, where they participated in rescue operations.
Sean is an expert in bomb disposal. The Syrian civil war has ravaged the country over the past few years, particularly the city of Raqqa. Although many buildings have collapsed, many still have unexploded explosives inside.
Even if Shaun and they hadn't been tasked, the career of the theater army was already difficult, there were few exciting things in the camp, and the morale of the troops was very bad. Sean received a mission in February 2018 to investigate a bombed school, and this task gave him hope.
When Sean patrolled the school, he couldn't find anything special. But when he really concentrated, he seemed to hear a faint whimper somewhere under the rubble. Sean followed the voice and began to dig.
Turns out it was a puppy! Looking like some sort of Asian Shepherd, it dodged when Sean held out his hand to it. Sean knew he had to do something to help the poor little fellow, but then a terrible sight arose.
Sean noticed that there were several other puppies around the puppy. Unfortunately, they all died from the collapse of the building. Now that the puppy had lost its family, Sean realized he couldn't leave it alone in the wreckage.
The puppy was still reluctant to get close to any stranger, so Sean pulled out some water and a little food, which finally drew the poor little guy out.
Soon after, the dog, who had lost his family, let his guard down, let Sean approach it, and quickly built trust. Sean decided to bring it back to base and introduce this new friend of his to all his teammates. And, of course, give it a name.
Let's call it Barrie. Dogs soon became regular members of the Royal Sapper Corps and almost never left Sean's side. With its help, Sean has also achieved considerable success.
The army interacts with a number of Syrian children, many of whom have lost their homes and families. In this chaotic and devastating world, there is a friendly dog around them, which makes a big difference in the lives of the children.
Sean also believes that having Barrie by his side will allow him to escape the stress and trauma of military life to some extent. While some of his companions suffer from mental illness or PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), Sean has at least one hope and partner.
Sean was so grateful to meet such a meaningful friend, saying, "I think it was me who saved Barrie's life on the surface, but it actually saved me." Their relationship was so good that Sean never wanted to be separated from Barrie again.
Barrie has become an important member of the team and has been officially confirmed by the military, and Sean has sewn a custom bomb squad vest for Barrie. In addition to being stylish and conspicuous, this vest also protects it from harm. In fact, however, the biggest problem it faces is about to come.
In the fall of 2018, Sean received word that his work in Syria was coming to an end. He was going home, but there was only one return ticket. What happens to Barrie once he leaves? Sean doesn't know if he'll ever see his dog again, as he's still going to stay on the Army base.
Sean's companions are celebrating their return to England, but the separation from Barrie puts a lot of pressure on Sean. Soon after, an idea popped into his head. He remembers hearing about a charity called War Paws, which was able to help veterans get back in touch with their military dogs.
The War Paws staff seemed confident they could help Sean, but didn't give him any promises. They told him to go to Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport to wait for a military plane to arrive. Sean waited nervously and anxiously, hoping that Barrie would be one of the passengers.
When airline staff pushed out a dog cage, Sean recognized a familiar face peeking out from inside. Barrie eventually returned to Europe! Sean held back tears of joy and presented Barrie with a gift.
He bought a new and improved vest for Barrie! Barrie looked in the mirror at the airport to see her new clothes and new surroundings. Barrie is familiar with the streets of the Syrian city of Raqqa, and Sean hopes it will soon adapt to life in Britain as well.
Barrie finally returned to his arms, and Sean returned to Hornchurch in Essex, England. Barrie settled down quickly, and it was very different from the frightened puppy that had run out of the dilapidated school. Thanks to a stable family life and a good diet, Barrie also thrived quickly!
Barrie is now an adult dog and continues to live happily with Sean. After so much going through together, there's no doubt that nothing will ever separate them again.
