MOSCOW, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- The opening ceremony of the "International Military Competition-2021" was held on August 23 at the Patriot Park in Moscow, the Russian capital.

The competition lasts for 14 days. 277 teams from more than 40 countries and regions, including Russia, China, Azerbaijan and Belarus, will compete in 34 competitions, with more than 5,000 participants.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the international military competition is an opportunity to test the tactical training and weapons and equipment mastery of all participants, make great contributions to the development of exchanges and mutual trust and partnership between the armed forces of the participating countries, and help consolidate world peace and security.

The International Military Competition is an international military competition initiated by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which was jointly organized by 11 countries this year. This year, the Chinese side hosted and participated in 3 competitions in Korla, Xinjiang, and sent more than 700 officers and men from 17 participating teams to Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Iran and other countries to participate in 17 competitions.
The "Tank Biathlon" tank group competition, the "Ring of Elbrus" mountain infantry detachment competition, and the "Creative Competition" literary and artistic program competition have been the first to start on the 22nd.
