Li Dehua, 45, is a native of Chabai Community in Dujuan Street, Qianxi County. Since childhood, he has a special love for folk traditional crafts. After graduating from Guizhou Provincial Art College (now Guizhou University School of Art), he established 3 cultural and art companies in Guiyang.
In a cultural exchange activity, Andy Lee found that the market potential of gourd painting craft products is very large. In 2018, he returned to his hometown to establish a gourd culture and art base, transferring more than 200 acres of land to plant gourds and developing the gourd painting industry. Through first training and re-employment, we will actively absorb local disabled people and poor people to find employment nearby.
At present, the gourd culture and art base produces more than 200,000 gourd products every year, solving the employment problems of 21 disabled people, 10 poor people and 5 unemployed youth. As a result, Andy Lee has become a well-known leader in getting rich.
In the next step, Andy Lee is ready to expand the scale of the base, on the basis of doing a good job in the gourd cultural industry, continue to extend to rattan weaving, bamboo weaving, stone, wood and other handicrafts, broaden the cultural industry chain, and will recruit about 100 disabled people and poor people according to market demand to help stabilize employment.
