At the main forum, Beijing Tongzhou District and Hangzhou Gongshu District signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement for friendship urban areas, and Hangzhou Canal Group will also sign a cooperation agreement with Beijing Shougang Construction and Investment Co., Ltd. to further promote cooperation between the two places.

On the afternoon of the same day, the large-scale Peking Opera Symphony Suite "Beijing Grand Canal" from Beijing was staged at the Hangzhou Grand Theatre. As the first stage art work focusing on the Beijing section of the Grand Canal in China, the play combines symphony and Peking Opera art, and for the first time uses the stage form to display the historical relics and humanistic features of the Beijing section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in three dimensions, excavating and promoting its epochal value.

Li Biao, artistic director of the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, introduced that at the end of last year, "The Grand Canal of Beijing" premiered at the National Centre for the Performing Arts and received a lot of praise, after which the team made extensive revisions to it.
