In order to meet the needs of the rapid development of modern orthopedics and further enhance the academic level and clinical diagnosis and treatment ability of orthopedic physicians in our province, on October 15-16, the 25th Henan Orthopedics Academic Conference and the First Henan Orthopedic Science Popularization Ability Improvement Competition were held in Zhengzhou, sponsored by the Henan Medical Association and the Orthopedic Branch of the Henan Medical Association, and undertaken by the Henan Provincial People's Hospital.
The 8th Committee Working Meeting and Youth Committee Meeting of the Orthopaedics Branch of Henan Medical Association were held at the same time. At the meeting, Cui Changzheng, director of the Organization and Management Department of the Henan Medical Association, read out the list of members of the eighth committee, a total of 97 people, and Professor Gao Yanzheng of Henan Provincial People's Hospital was re-elected as the chairman of the eighth committee.
Henan Orthopedics Academic Conference, one of the most influential academic exchange platforms in the field of orthopedics in the province, has been held for 25 sessions so far, and has been well received by all sectors of society. This year's conference actively responded to the national epidemic prevention and control policy, adopted online and offline synchronization, and watched more than 100,000 people online.
Professor Wang Kunzheng, Chairman-designate of the Orthopaedics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Wang Wei, Vice President and Secretary General of the Henan Medical Association, Shao Fengmin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Wang Yisheng, Honorary Chairman of the Conference, and other leading guests attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Professor Liu Hongjian, Chairman-designate of the Orthopaedics Branch of Henan Medical Association, presided over the opening ceremony.
At the meeting, Secretary General Wang Wei fully affirmed the achievements of the Seventh Committee in promoting the development of orthopedics in our province, and put forward higher goals and requirements for the Eighth Committee.
Chairman Gao Yanzheng said that under the leadership and support of the Henan Provincial Medical Association and the leadership of successive chairmen, the Orthopedics Branch has made due contributions to the development of Henan Orthopedics. In 2017, the Seventh Committee of Henan Medical Association was established, inheriting and carrying forward the glorious tradition of generations of Henan orthopedics, uniting and working hard, and forging ahead. In 2018 and 2019, for two consecutive years, the number of submissions to the national COA conference ranked first in the country, accounting for one-tenth of the total number of submissions in the country, and in the 2019 COA conference, the speakers of our province jumped to the fourth place in the country, which is a milestone leap. The establishment of the Eighth Committee in 2021 will continue to carry forward the fine tradition of Henan Orthopedic Predecessors, unite as one, and seek the development of Henan Orthopedics! This annual meeting received a total of more than 500 submissions, more than 60 specially invited speakers, and more than 160 people were selected for the conference speech, branch speech, science popularization competition, and standardized case competition, breaking through the historical record again.
In the theme report session, focusing on the frontier and hot issues of orthopedic development, Professor Zhang Yingze, chairman of the Orthopedics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, conducted wonderful and extensive academic exchanges through the online, Wang Kunzheng, Gao Yanzheng, Liu Hongjian, Zhu Huimin, Wang Haijiao, Professor Mei Wei, Professor Liu Tao, Professor Pi Guofu, Professor Mu Xinxin, Professor Zheng Jia, Professor Xu Jianzhong, Professor Wu Xuejian, Professor Li Huiying, Professor Sun Yongqiang, Professor Wang Aiguo, Professor Liu Fuyun and many other famous orthopedic experts. It has brought a high-level academic feast to the Orthopedic community in Henan.
The conference set up six topics: Spine Forum, Joint Forum, Trauma Forum, Bone Tumor Forum, Orthopedic Minimally Invasive Forum, and Orthopedic New Technology and Accelerated Rehabilitation Forum. The participating experts demonstrated the latest research results and clinical progress made in various fields in recent years, and the participants actively participated in the dissemination and exchange of new theories and new technologies through various forms such as conference speeches, special seminars, and case discussions. Satellite conferences will be held at the same time.
The science popularization ability improvement competition is one of the important links of this conference and a major highlight. The conference set up 6 arenas, 94 orthopedic elites from all over the province competed on the same stage, and carried out the science popularization ability improvement competition, the standardized treatment surgery video case competition, and the orthopedic case speech competition, which was rich in content and diverse in form, which greatly improved the speech ability and scientific popularization ability of young orthopedic doctors in our province and the standardization of surgical treatment. The successful holding of this conference has pushed the orthopedic cause of Henan Province to a new height.
