Born in Tianjin in 1942, he moved to Hong Kong in 1959 with his parents working in opera. In 1986, he participated in "Law Enforcement Pioneer" directed by Yuan Kui, and was nominated for supporting actor at the 6th Hong Kong Film Awards.

In 1987, NoonMa played the role of Yan Chixia in the movie "Ghost of a Woman", with which he won the Best Supporting Actor at the 24th Golden Horse Awards and the Best Supporting Actor at the 7th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 1988, he planned to participate in the film "The Last Eunuch in China" and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 8th Hong Kong Film Awards.

In 1990, Wu Ma played Liu Zhengfeng in the movie "Smiling Proud of the Jianghu", and he and Lin Zhengying, who played the elder of the Demon Sect and Qu Yang, both made cameo appearances, and played a song "Laughing Proud of the Jianghu" together, which became a classic. In the early morning of February 4, 2014, Noon Ma died of advanced lung cancer in Hong Kong at the age of 71. On February 28, at the funeral at the Hong Kong World Funeral Home, nearly half of Hong Kong's entertainment circles came to pay their respects and farewells, and 8 people, including Hong Jinbao, Dillon, Jackie Chan, and Tsang Chi-wai, helped him.

Noon Ma can act, edit, direct and plan, and is a rare talent in the Hong Kong film industry. As an actor, Noonma is definitely a drama-level figure, in more than 40 years of acting career, has starred in more than 100 film and television works, mostly to play negative roles, small characters, although not much played the main role, but the audience have a deep impression of him, is affectionately known as "diamond-level supporting roles" and "gold medal dragon set".
