Schumann (1810-1856): Kinderscenen Op.15 No.7 Dream, the most well-known piece in this work, reminiscent of emotions and longings for a happy life.
The theme consists of a melody that gradually descends after four bars of upward movement, and this theme is slow and smoothly paced. The theme has evolved seven times over and over again, each time with a slight difference from the previous one, but the mood of happiness and lyricism is consistent. In addition to the main melody, there is also a counterpoint melody of polyphonic music in the bass part, which sometimes makes the harmony of the main melody richer, and sometimes connects between the repeated development of the theme, leading the listener to feel the warm happiness emitted by the main melody again and again.
