Recently, CCTV's "Live" column reported a murder case that occurred in Liuzhou City last year, and the woman Yang Yue stabbed her ex-husband Zeng to death with a knife in her son's rented accommodation. On May 19, the reporter learned from the Liuzhou Intermediate People's Court that after the court made a first-instance judgment on the case, the defendant Yang Yue did not appeal, and at present, the judgment has taken effect.
Late at night 110, I received a major criminal case
Late at night on May 26, 2020, the 110 command center of the Liuzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau received a call from a woman calling the police, saying: "I killed my husband, and I also committed suicide by drinking enemy fear!"
The police in the jurisdiction received instructions from the command center and quickly rushed to the scene of the crime.
In the rental house on the lowest floor of a residential building on Yongqian Road in Liuzhou City, the police saw a man with several knives in his body falling by the door, and a lot of blood was shed on the ground. On the bed lay a foaming woman and a 10-year-old boy in the room.
The 120 emergency personnel who rushed to the scene confirmed that the man who fell to the ground had no vital signs. After the woman was sent to the hospital for rescue, she turned the crisis into safety.
The police initially judged that this was a murder case caused by a family conflict, so they interrogated and investigated the woman named Yang Yue at the scene.
According to Yang Yue's statement, she and Zeng were once husband and wife, the two married in 2009, and the next year their son was born. In 2016, the two divorced by agreement. Later, because of the child, they could not give up this family, and the two remarried in 2018.

Their second marriage lasted only half a year, and Yang Yue and Zeng Divorced again. After the divorce, the son was raised by Yang Yue, and Zeng paid 1,000 yuan in maintenance every month.
The woman stabbed her provocative ex-husband with a knife
Why would Yang Yue kill her former husband? The Liuzhou Intermediate Court heard the case in open court on November 11, 2020.
According to the public prosecution, on the evening of May 26, 2020, at a supper stall in Liunan District, Yang Yue and Zeng Mou had a dispute over the issue of paying for the child's birthday. During this time, Zeng beat Yang Yue with his fist and was later persuaded by others to open it.
At about 10 p.m. that night, Yang Yue returned to her rental house on Yongqian Road in Liunan District. Soon, Zeng Mou came to Yang Yue's rental house. Yang Yue opened the door to let Zeng enter the room, and then stabbed Zeng's chest and abdomen many times with a sharp knife. Zeng died on the spot after falling to the ground.
After that, Yang Yue took pesticides to commit suicide. At about 11 o'clock that night, Yang Yue, who had taken the pesticide, dialed the 110 telephone to call the police, and the public security police rushed to the scene after receiving the police and sent Yang Yue to the hospital for treatment.
The public prosecution held that Yang Yue's actions had constituted intentional homicide. In the face of the prosecution's accusations, Yang Yue argued that she did not want to kill Zeng, but Zeng wanted to beat herself, and she took up the knife in a hurry to defend herself.
One of Yang Yue's defenders argued that Yang Yue's excessive defense caused death and should be found to constitute the crime of intentional injury. Another defender believes that Yang Yue voluntarily surrendered himself to the police after committing the crime, and that the case was caused by a family dispute to recover child support, and that before the incident, the victim had beaten Yang Yue and chased yang Yue to his residence to provoke him, and there was a certain fault, and it was recommended that Yang Yue be given a lenient punishment.
The court shall give a lenient punishment in accordance with law on the basis of the facts of the case
At the time of the case, Yang Yuehe's 10-year-old son was at the scene. During the trial, the prosecutor read out the child's testimony.
The child said in his testimony that on the night of the crime, his father and mother had a fierce quarrel in the rental house, and the father said that he wanted to kill his mother, but he did not beat his mother at that time.
Then, the child saw his mother take a fruit knife on the table, he hid in the quilt in fear, and then heard the sound of the knife stabbing people.
After a while, the child came out of the quilt and saw his father lying down next to the sink. The mother said she was going to drink pesticides, and the child was scared. After Yang Yue collapsed on the bed, she took her mobile phone to her son and asked him to dial 110.
The defender presented two letters written by the children to Yang Yue after the incident, proving that the defendant in this case had obtained the forgiveness of some of the victims' families.
On December 7, 2020, after trial, the Liuzhou Intermediate People's Court made a first-instance judgment that defendant Yang Yue could not correctly handle the contradictions and disputes with the victim, illegally and intentionally deprived others of their lives, causing the death of one person, and his conduct constituted the crime of intentional homicide. The defender's mention of Yang Yue's conduct was excessive defense and was inconsistent with the facts ascertained and the provisions of the law, and the court did not accept it.
However, Yang Yue voluntarily reported to the police after committing the crime, and after returning to the case, he was able to truthfully confess the main facts of his crime, which was a voluntary surrender; Yang Yue had a dispute with Zeng in the process of recovering maintenance from Zeng and was beaten by Zeng; after Yang Yue was persuaded to leave and return to the rental house, Zeng still chased Yang Yue to his residence to quarrel with Yang Yue and provoke Yang Yue, and Zeng's behavior was at fault for triggering the case.
In summary, the court decided to give Yang Yue a lighter punishment.
The Liuzhou Intermediate People's Court rendered a first-instance judgment in accordance with the law: Defendant Yang Yue committed intentional homicide and was sentenced to life imprisonment and deprivation of political rights for life; a double-edged knife was used to commit the crime, and it was confiscated and destroyed.
