More than 500 intellectuals changed cars and drove for a full day and a night on the gravel highway from Lanzhou to Yinchuan, and on October 24, 1958, the day before the establishment of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, they rushed to Yinchuan and participated in the construction of the foundation of the Yinchuan Yinxin (Yinchuan Old Town - present-day Xingqing District - leading to Xincheng Railway Station - present-day Jinfeng District) highway on the spot, as a gift to the establishment of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Legendaryly, except for 2 of these more than 500 people, who did not wear the hat of "landlord (lord), rich (peasant), counter (revolutionary), special (service), and right (faction)", everyone else wore such a "tightening curse". Of these 2 people, one is the political work cadre who leads the team, and the other is Feng Zhiyuan. Everyone else was organizationally forced to support the side, but Feng Zhiyuan took the initiative to sign up for Ningxia.
In 1958, on the eve of the establishment of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the leaders of the Ningxia Working Committee of the CPC and the Preparatory Committee of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region went to Shanghai to ask for help, asking Shanghai to send some intellectuals to Ningxia to support ningxia construction 3. At that time, his feats should have been organized as a pacesetter like Xing Yanzi, publicized by the media, followed by the crowd, sensationalized Shanghai, and spread all over the country - however, the yin and yang mistakes in the underworld made him ghostly and sent a god to be with a bunch of "cow ghosts and snake gods", came from Shanghai to Yinchuan, got off the bus and was guarded like a labor prisoner, put on his back, filled the foundation of the Luojiazhuang section of the newly built highway from Yinchuan Railway Station to the old city (today's Xingqing District), and the slogan to the outside world was "Gifts to the newly established autonomous region!" Others sighed secretly, their bones were tired like scattered racks, but Feng Zhiyuan was full of spirits, singing the revolutionary song "We Walk on the Road", demanding that the soil in his back be full, running all the way to sing, speaking in a higher profile than anyone else, and saying that he wanted to "roll a body of mud, refine a red heart, and use the fruits of his labor to present gifts to the autonomous region!" It was these 40 intellectuals from Shanghai, together with the intellectuals from Beijing, Tianjin, Wuhan, Guangzhou and other places, who supported the blue sky of education in Mingsha, Zhongning, Ningxia and the entire western region, and cultivated groups of rural naughty children into new farmers with culture and knowledge in the new countryside in the new era, and some later became experts, scholars, professors, engineers and other professionals in all walks of life.
Mingsha Guta
Mingsha Middle School was founded in 1957 in an ancient temple in front of Mingsha Pagoda, and in 1958, it was located in the open space of the school beach (also known as the teaching beach) on the south side of Mingsha Street, next to the Qixing Canal. Feng Zhiyuan is the first Chinese teacher to graduate from Mingsha Middle School with a bachelor's degree.
The newly founded Mingsha Middle School was in urgent need of teachers that year. Feng Zhiyuan is proficient in history and geography, has a deep foundation in Russian, and can read music, and when he knows that the school is in urgent need of teachers of other subjects, he takes the initiative to ask Miao to teach russian, history, geography and music to his classmates as he did in Shanghai.
