16 April 1940 Queen Margaret II of Denmark was born

Margaret was the eldest daughter of former King Frederik IX of Denmark and was born on 16 April 1940. He succeeded to the throne in 1972. She loved art since childhood, but in order to inherit the throne, she had to study subjects such as history, politics and economics. Curiously, she became fascinated by archaeology during this period and participated in archaeological work at home and abroad many times. After becoming queen, her daily schedule was always full, and it was no longer possible to engage in archaeological work. So, in her spare time, on quiet nights without any activity, she returned to her brush. Every Thursday afternoon, she put down all her official duties, hid in the studio, and immersed herself in painting, like a day for more than ten years.

The Queen's first published work was book illustration. Once, when reading the Novel "Wing King" by the British writer Torcay, she was deeply attracted by the characters and scenery described in the book, and could not help but write while reading and conceiving and painting. After reading the book, the painting is also done. She sent these paintings to the writer as a reading experience. The writer was surprised to find that the Queen's paintings bore a striking resemblance to several of his own. Later, when the Wing King trilogy was translated and published in Denmark, the Queen's painting was used as an illustration for the book and received rave reviews.

The initial success made the Queen confidently ascend to the Danish painting scene. She was invited to design stamps, Christmas cards and silverware motifs, and one after another was released. When Danish television made Andersen's fairy tale "The Chimney Sweeper and the Shepherd" into a television film, she was asked to design costumes for the actors. She gladly agreed, and personally went to the TV station, spread the paper on the floor, leaned over, and concentrated on the creation, like a professional designer.

In 1990, the Queen held a solo exhibition in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, showing her amateur paintings for nearly a decade, both traditional and modern abstract; landscape paintings, book illustrations, and design patterns for stamps and stage costumes. The exhibition was praised by the visitors.

He came to China in 1979. According to reports at the time, on the night she arrived in Beijing, she said to her Chinese master: "The prince and I are looking forward to this visit with great hope." China has always attracted every Dane. "This time she came to China to visit, and she was very interested in China's cultural history, ancient architecture, and excavated cultural relics. On the afternoon of their arrival in China, Queen Margaret and Prince Henrik, despite the fatigue of a long journey, took a break and went to the Beijing Liuli Factory to admire the poetry and paintings of Rong Baozhai and the porcelain and treasures of the antique shop. At Rongbaozhai, the queen and prince viewed a series of precious ancient Chinese poetry paintings. Here are the earliest Chinese prints from 868 BC - the diamond sutra painting wooden plate print, the Northern Wei Dynasty Dunhuang murals more than 1,000 years ago, the ancient paintings of the Song Gaozong himself inscription, as well as the ancient paintings of the Five Dynasties, Tang Dynasty and Ming Dynasty, and the famous paintings of Qi Baishi and Xu Beihong in modern times. When the queen saw a Song Dynasty silk silk fan painting, she humorously said that it was a Chinese fan.

The Queen and The Prince took the train to the Great Wall with great interest. The train arrives at Juyongguan, and the extreme view is extremely high, the peaks are undulating, and the weather is varied. The majestic Ancient Great Wall winds its way through the lofty mountains. The queen and prince ascended the beacon tower and praised the majesty of the Great Wall.

In the ancient capital of Xi'an, the splendid culture and art of the Chinese Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui and Tang dynasties attracted queens and princes even more. They came to the terracotta warriors and horses burial pit of the Mausoleum of The First Emperor of Qin, stood in the middle of the terracotta warriors like real people, and watched curiously. Queen Margaret told the local archaeologists that the archaeological work is very hard and that you have done a lot of meaningful work.
