However, many young viewers only saw the tragic scene of the "Battle of Chosin Lake" and experienced the difficulty of the revolutionary martyrs, but they did not understand the historical facts of the Battle of Chosin Lake.
For such a long time, the Battle of Chosin Lake has been a scar that both China and the United States do not want to touch. Now that Wu Jing has put it on the screen, this history that has been sealed in the depths of memory has been reawakened.
To sum it up simply, this is a battle that China does not want to recall, and the United States does not dare to recall. Colonel Bowser, chief of operations of the 1st Marine Division, once said:

After the founding of New China, the US imperialists did not die, and they actually led the flames of war to the banks of the Yalu River. On October 8, 1950, the Korean government invited Chinese volunteers to join the DPRK to support them.
On the evening of October 19, Peng led the Chinese Volunteer Army across the Yalu River into northern Korea. And on October 25, the first shot was fired. The first battle of the Volunteers' invasion shattered MacArthur's delusional plan to occupy all of Korea before Thanksgiving.
Although the problem could not be solved before Thanksgiving, the US military once again made a small calculation to occupy Korea before Christmas. The central authorities are keenly aware that the 300,000 volunteer troops who entered Korea in the early stage are not enough to solve all the problems of the Korean battlefield, and the increase in troops has become an inevitable trend.
In November 1950, the central government ordered the Ninth Corps of Huaye to enter the Korean battlefield ahead of schedule.
The Ninth Corps had about 150,000 men, composed of the 20th, 26th, and 27th Armies, which were originally the main force of Huaye, and their combat effectiveness was not to be said. But there is a point, these soldiers were originally as a taiwan attack unit, eating, living and training in the south, and even winter clothes were configured according to the southern climate.
The biggest problem facing an emergency entry into the DPRK is not how fierce the enemy is, but the first thing they have to deal with is the harsh climatic conditions in the northeast.
On November 7, 12, and 19, 1950, the Ninth Corps marched to the Korean battlefield, dressed in thin clothes and holding weapons captured in the liberation battlefield, and embarked on the road to fight in Korea.
When the train drove to the Shenyang area, He Jinnian, deputy commander of the Northeast Military Region, saw a soldier of the Ninth Corps dressed in a single suit and was shocked:
"You dress like this and enter North Korea, not to mention the war, the frost can freeze you to death."
With that said, He Jinnian ordered someone to take out the 50,000 Japanese coats and cotton shoes at the bottom of the pressure box and distribute them to the soldiers of the Ninth Army. The soldiers of the Ninth Corps marched through the jungle in such an environment, and after more than ten days of marching, they finally reached the designated position, and the rest of the time was to wait patiently.
The weather is cold, cold during the day and even colder at night. You can still move when you are marching, your body is still warmer, you ambush the enemy, and the whole person is quiet, and it is more difficult to survive.
One company of the 20th Army was actually frozen alive on the position, and there were also a large number of non-combat attritions in other units, and the non-combat attrition of the entire Ninth Corps reached more than 30,000 people.
Frostbite of soldiers seriously affected the combat effectiveness of the troops, in addition, under the extreme cold, the soldiers even pulled the bolt of the gun became a luxury.
The soldiers did not even dare to pee easily, in order to wait for the enemy to come, the soaking urine would open the bolt of the gun, and they really couldn't hold back, and they could only urinate alternately, just in case.
On November 27, 1950, with the impact of the second campaign, the area around Chosin Lake finally waited for the enemy. The 20th Army and the 1st Marine Division exchanged fire, and at the beginning of the battle, the figure of the volunteer army appeared in the snowy snow, and when the gunfire sounded everywhere, the American army was shocked.
They did not expect that such harsh conditions would even ambush volunteer soldiers. Although after several days of freezing and starvation, most of the volunteer soldiers have been frostbitten, and their actions and combat effectiveness have long been reduced.
However, they still had a stalemate with the US 1st Division for three days and three nights.
The war is about the promotion of the momentum, relying on advanced weapons and equipment, the US army has been unable to break through the volunteer army's defense line for a long time, and its morale is getting lower and lower. By December 5, the US 1st Marine Division saw that the war situation was unfavorable and had no choice but to withdraw its troops in a hurry.
How can the soldiers of our volunteer army let them go, after a fierce chase, the mobile unit that the US army is proud of, the speed of retreat can be called "turtle speed".
In order to cover the retreat of the 1st Marine Division, the entire regiment was scattered by the volunteers, the regimental flag was captured, and only 385 people were left to lose their armor and flee to the positions of the 1st Marine Division.
In order to further cut off the rear road of the US army, the Watergate Bridge has become the focus of contention between the enemy and us. The officers and men of the 58th Division of the 20th Army blew up the Watergate Bridge twice, and the U.S. Army twice snatched and repaired the Watergate Bridge.
In order to maximize the victory of the war, the officers of the 58th Army simply used their bodies to carry explosives and blew up the entire Watergate Bridge, and the US army could no longer repair it in a short time.
