Synopsis
In 1947, dozens of children from the Yan'an Nursery left their biological parents and were led by nurserymen to retreat from the yan'an artillery fire. Xiao Hanping, the brigade commander of our army, received orders from his superiors to transfer Li Nan, a battalion instructor, from the front line and send her and her guard Ding Dayong to find and escort these children to the liberated areas. Each of these children has a different experience: Liangliang's father has died, his mother is injured and in danger; Dan dan is an orphan; the infirmary is born in the nursery after his mother was knocked out of the house; his parents in winter are fighting in the front... Luo Guitian, an old Red Army soldier, Zhao Yuxia, a woman from northern Shaanxi, and Xiang zhu, a 14-year-old young nurseryman, gave all their love to protect and bring these revolutionary seedlings. After Li Nan found them, he saw the mother-in-law of this team, dragging his feet, and felt that it was better to lead the soldiers to fight! Painful past experiences have also led her to avoid her love for her children. On the beacon platform of the ancient Great Wall, Li Nan saw that Brigadier Xiao, who had lost his wife and son in the war, was full of confidence in life, and although he was shouldering heavy responsibilities, when he was with the children, he seemed so open-minded and showed his sincere love for the children. Especially when he learned that Liang Liang's mother was dead, and thinking of her instructions before her death, Li Nan's heart was deeply touched. However, when xiao Hanping broke up with the big troops in the nursery and Expressed his admiration for her, she avoided it. Why did she do this? Before Luo Guitian's sacrifice, she confided her true feelings to him. Luo Guitian, like a father, helped her eliminate the hidden pain in her heart. Finally, at the meeting to recognize the nursery, the children affectionately called Li Nan "Mother Li". Liang Liang had Li Nan's mother and Xiao Hanping's father. The other children also found their own homes.

The film depicts the singable and weeping story of a nursery school team retreated from Yan'an during the Liberation War, breaking through the hardships and dangers and safely withdrawing from the encirclement. It uses limited time and space to create more characters with personality characteristics, making them have a large ideological capacity and deepening the main theme of the work.
