Nuggets forward Michael Porter talked about his draft when he was on a podcast.

"I was in the rehabilitation process after the first surgery and didn't participate in any team trials. I just had a public audition one day and all the teams came to Chicago to see my training. I trained well, it hurt a bit, but I felt like it was part of the rehabilitation process. I trained well and the king said to me, 'If you're feeling good, we're going to pick you up with the top picks.' I said, 'That's fine.' The Clippers' man was the chief physician, and he wrote a report saying, 'He may never fight again.' ’”

"On the night of the draft, I hadn't had a second surgery and it hurt to sit there. Speaking about the Clippers not selecting him in two consecutive draft picks, Porter said: "I understand, I'm not disgusted with any team that didn't pick me.
