The wind knows the grass, and the fire sees the real gold. Whether or not they dare to struggle and whether they can struggle or not is the "touchstone" for testing the cultivation of party spirit among party members and cadres.

"Our party has relied on struggle to get to where it is today, and it is bound to rely on struggle to win the future." General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the opening ceremony of the training class for young and middle-aged cadres at the Central Party School (National Academy of Administration) in the spring semester of 2021, encouraging young cadres to consciously strengthen their experience in struggle, strengthen their will to struggle, and practice the true skills and real kung fu of struggle. Young cadres are the successors of the cause of the party and the state, and only by learning to struggle in the course of struggle, growing up and improving in the course of struggle, and striving to become warriors who dare to struggle and are good at struggle can they shoulder the heavy responsibilities of the times entrusted by the party and the people.

The courage to struggle is the distinctive character of our Party. Looking back on the past, whether it is the smoke of gunfire and hardship in the revolutionary years, or the poverty and whiteness of the construction years, the blue wisps of the road; whether it is in the face of the monstrous flood, the raging epidemic, or the rapids of reform and the overcoming of development problems... Whenever a grim situation and a task of struggle are in front of us, daring to struggle and being able to win a good battle is undoubtedly the magic weapon and spiritual code for winning that we have inherited for continuing to inherit.

The spirit of struggle and the ability to fight are not innate, and only in the complex and severe struggle can we truly forge into fiery and real gold through wind and rain, see the world, and strengthen our bones and bones. With the sudden attack of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, countless communist party members were able to rush up at critical moments, open-minded in times of crisis, and fought at the forefront of protecting people's lives and health; the struggle against poverty was arduous, millions of poverty alleviation cadres devoted themselves to hard work, and more than 1,800 comrades fixed their lives on the journey of poverty alleviation... Practice has fully proved that the fighting spirit of communists was tempered in the midst of strong winds and waves and even terrifying waves, aroused in the action of shouldering responsibilities for the people, and forged in the course of facing challenges and facing difficulties again and again.

History is the best textbook. To stimulate the spirit of struggle and enhance the ability to struggle, we should pay attention to gaining inspiration from the study of party history. When Lankao was hit by disasters for many years, some cadres were overwhelmed by disasters and lacked confidence in changing the appearance of Lankao, so Comrade Jiao Yulu organized everyone to study articles such as "Serving the People," "Commemorating Bethune," and "Yugong Moving Mountains, and held a special meeting to recall the history of Lankao's revolutionary struggle and to encourage everyone's fighting spirit and vigor." To better cope with all kinds of foreseeable and unforeseeable risks and challenges on the road ahead, it is particularly necessary for us to study history to be clear and reasonable, to study history to increase credibility, to learn history to revere virtue, to learn from history to practice, to learn and master the magic weapon of defeating the enemy and winning victory from historical experience, and to constantly create a new situation in reform and development with the courage to overcome risks and challenges.

In October 1937, Comrade Mao Zedong wrote an inscription for the Northern Shaanxi Public School: "We must cultivate a large number of people, who are the vanguard of the revolution." These people have political foresight, and these people are full of a spirit of struggle and sacrifice. "Today, a new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country has begun, based on a new stage of development, implementing a new development concept, and building a new development pattern, facing no less risks and tests than in the past." By striving to be brave warriors who dare to struggle and are good at struggle, and who practice the true skills and kung fu of struggle, we will certainly be able to show new deeds and create new brilliance on the new journey.
