Visit the Shaanxi Guild Hall of Xining Mountain

Founded in 1888 (the fourteenth year of Qing Guangxu), the XiningShan Shaanxi Guild Hall is a place where merchants and merchants from Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces connect their hometowns and worship the god of wealth.

Today's National Day holiday, at noon from the hotel to walk about two kilometers to the Golden Pagoda Temple and Dzongkha Da ci Hongjue Temple to visit, passing through the Shanshan Mansion and entering the visit.

I actually visited here last May because of the pandemic. The Shanshan Guild Hall is closed to guests.

Entering the guild hall, the main hall gate known as the Guandi Temple is closed. Some cultural relics and antiques are displayed on both sides of the wing, which has become a microcosm of the development of Xining Ancient City.

It highlights the history of merchants from Shaanxi, Shanxi, doing business here. There are also many folk objects of modern life.

Especially some daily necessities from 50 years ago. Those of us who have passed through that era are impressed.

Seeing a phoenix on display, I haven't seen it in half a century. At that time, there was a shortage of materials, and this thing was also relatively rare.

I remember that one of the female classmates lived at the intersection of Sun Mountain Road on Datong Road in Shanghai (northeast of the current Shanghai Railway Station), and her hometown should be in the Huaibei area of Anhui.

A classmate who was the head of the class asked her to borrow such a phoenix piano, and it took more than half a year to return it to her, she said: "More than half a year, I don't want it, I want you to buy a new one!" "I was standing on the sidelines. Half a century later, I still remember it vividly.

I checked the phoenix qin, and it turned out that the phoenix qin was also called "Taisho qin". Legend has it that it was created in 1912 by Goro Morita, the eldest son of the owner of the Osu Moritaya Inn in Nagoya, Japan. It was introduced to China in the 1920s.

Because the phoenix piano is simple in structure, easy to play, the sound is crisp and bright, and can be used for solo, ensemble or song and dance accompaniment, especially inexpensive, suitable for folk entertainment and singing, quite popular.

Many things were still luxury in those days, such as "three turns and one ring" (bicycles, sewing machines, watches three turns, radios).

I saw a picture with lyrics that resonated with me:

Where has the time gone

It's gone before you take a good look at your eyes

Garlic rice oil and salt for half a lifetime

In the blink of an eye, only wrinkles remained

You're old before you feel young!
