The show tells the story of law professor Anita Hill (Kerry Washington) who came forward at a congressional hearing to accuse Clarence Thomas, who had just been nominated by President Bush to serve as a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, for sexual harassment, causing the latter to nearly lose his chance to serve as a justice.
