Recently, a mansion in the Bel-Air residential area of California, the Chartwell Estate, finally sold for 150 million US dollars (now about 1.047 billion yuan). The mansion was featured in the 1960s American sitcom Beverly Hills.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the buyer is Lachlan Murdoch, co-chairman, chief executive officer and executive chairman of News Corp., the son of renowned media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

The 25,000-square-foot French neoclassical mansion covers 10 acres and has 18 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, an underground garage that can accommodate 40 cars, and a wine cellar that can hold 12,000 bottles of wine. Its ground floor includes a 75-foot swimming pool, a tennis court, fountain, a pool room and a guest house, as well as a "secret" passage to the pool from the basement of the main residence.

The Chatwell Estate was built in 1933 by the late former chairman of Univision, A. Perinzio. Jerrold Perenchio), who bought the property in 1986 for nearly $14 million. The media mogul died in 2017 at the age of 86. He also reportedly spent $15 million to buy the former home of President Ronald Reagan, who was in front of the main house, and made various repairs to the main house to make it look like a "Versailles palace."

The estate was first listed for $350 million in 2017. Due to the lack of attention, its asking price gradually fell to $245 billion, and by June 2019, it fell to another $195 billion, and finally sold at a lower price in recent days.
