The competition takes the centenary of the founding of the Party and the culture of Jiangnan as the creative theme, and uses modern composition and creation techniques to show novel creative ideas and rich musical vocabulary, reflecting the spirit of the times and local characteristics.

In his view, under the huge impact of the epidemic, this year's Jinji Lake Composition Competition can still receive such a number of submissions, which is a "very remarkable" achievement, "which well reflects the cultural charm of Suzhou city, and also shows that the influence of Sujiao at home and abroad is expanding." ”

Xu Mengdong introduced that the works received by this year's Suzhou Jinji Lake Composition Competition not only ranked in the forefront of domestic and foreign composition competitions in the same period in terms of quantity, but also gave the judges certain surprises in terms of quality, and many works combined the theme, innovation, skill, modernity and audibility very well, which is very exciting; in addition, there are also some young composers who have emerged in the world who have also come to participate in the competition, "I think this also shows their trust in the Jinji Lake Composition Competition. I believe we can interpret their works very well. ”

The final concert of the 2nd Suzhou Jinji Lake Composition Competition 2021 will be held on June 19, through the live performance of the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, the final winning works will be selected and the award ceremony will be held, and the first prize will receive ¥100,000 yuan.

At the same time, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra also presented the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China with Gusu style rhyme, and issued a commission invitation to 14 well-known composers of the old, middle and young generations in China to jointly compose the strong sound of the times. The 14-ministerial works will be premiered at the Jinji Lake Concert Hall in Suzhou on June 16 and September 18 in concert.
