Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra

From June 29th to 30th, the Shanghai Philharmonic will take the stage at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center, and at the two closing concerts, the orchestra will once again present five of the six new works, including the caprice "Bethune in Jinchaji", the string ensemble "Sacrifice", the violin and cello double concerto "Shikumen Caprice", the symphony "Red Feelings", and the symphony "Ode to 100 Years".

At the same time, the Shanghai Philharmonic will also stage the "Sixth Symphony "Road Song" adapted and composed by Lu Pei. In 1934, Nie Er composed the theme song "Dalu Song" for the film "Dalu", which was all the rage, and after 87 years, this classic written for the people will be revitalized. Lu Pei said that the melody of "The Song of the Great Road" is sonorous and powerful, especially suitable for the adaptation of the symphony, in order to highlight the solemn and magnificent momentum, he specially added an organ.

In addition, Lu Qiming's classic "Ode to the Red Flag" will also appear in the crowd. Since its appearance in 1965, Lu Qiming's "Ode to the Red Flag" has spread at home and abroad, and its performances have not faded. Three months ago, at the Beijing Concert Hall, the Shanghai Philharmonic opened the curtain on the "Red Feelings" series of performances in the melody of "Ode to the Red Flag", from Beijing to Shanghai, from Tiananmen to Shikumen, "Ode to the Red Flag" appeared again, echoing from beginning to end.

In order to prepare for the "Red Feelings" series of performances, the Shanghai Philharmonic Commission asked three generations of composers from the old, middle and young ages- Lü Qiming, Xu Jingxin, Zhao Guang, Liu Junhao, and Gong Tianpeng, closely following the theme of the times, to create 6 new works - capriccio "Bethune in Jinchaji", string ensemble "Sacrifice", vocal suite "Eternal Monument", violin and cello double concerto "Shikumen Capriccio", symphony "Red Feelings", symphony "Ode to 100 Years".

At the age of 90, Lü Qiming worked tirelessly and presented the capriccio "Bethune in Jinchaji" and the string ensemble "Sacrifice". Looking back on the seventy years of creative process, Lu Qiming claims to have done only one of the most important things, "practicing my oath and commitment to joining the party, inheriting my red genes, and using music to praise the party, praise the motherland, praise the people, and praise the great victory of the Chinese revolution." ”

The 78-year-old Xu Jingxin composed the vocal suite "Eternal Monument". In the creation of many years, he has always adhered to the principle of "beautiful melody, audience love to listen", compared to the novelty, he believes that the work can only be "grounded" to "spread", "Eternal Monument" is a good sound and can be sung work.

Zhao Guang, 59, has always regarded Shanghai's charm and culture as an important creative theme. His double concerto "Shikumen Caprice" for violin and cello also has a strong atmosphere of Haipai, which can not only feel the magnificent momentum of "Dalu Song" and "Beijing Ode", but also find the Jiangnan taste of "Uprooting Lu ChaiHua".

"I don't write about the right thing, I only write about the real feeling." Post-80s composer Liu Junhao's symphony "Red Feelings" from the individual emotional expression, describing his own growth process from wearing a red scarf, looking up at the national flag, to facing the party flag oath, "'We are the successors of communism' is the best song I heard when I was a child, I hope to use it to evoke the collective memory of a generation. ”

As the youngest creator, the post-90s composer Gong Tianpeng was not bound by baggage, was not afraid of pressure, and completed the creation of the symphony "Ode to a Hundred Years" with youthful, vigorous and confident brushstrokes, lyrically writing the magnificent epic poem of the Communist Party that has led the sons and daughters of China to forge ahead in the past hundred years.

Sun Hong, director of the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, said that as early as 2017, the orchestra was involved in the planning and preparation of the series of performances to welcome the centenary of the founding of the party, "The centenary of the party not only provides us with the opportunity to relive the road ahead, but also stimulates the creative enthusiasm and potential of the whole troupe." ”

It is worth mentioning that the three concerts on June 11, 29 and 30 were selected for the "Excellent Stage Art Exhibition and Performance Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" organized by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Federation of Chinese Literary and Art Circles.
