A letter from the traitor Sun Dongyun

A letter written in 1940 to Koyama Matsushou, speaker of the House of Representatives of Tokyo, Japan, claiming to be "Major General Sun Dongyun of the Yuan Army in Botou Town, Jiaohe County, Hebei Province," was photographed abroad and sold on Kong Net. The seller has several frames of the picture, which is the handwriting of the original manuscript of the letter. I asked many people to translate the letter, and all of them said that the letter was in ancient Japanese and could not be translated. Mr. Cong Gui, a new netizen, took the initiative to find his friend, a military expert in Beijing who specialized in Japanese issues and also did simultaneous interpretation, and finally translated the letter. Unfortunately, some parts of the original manuscript are not very clear, and the translation is not very certain, but the main content should be no problem. This afternoon, I received a translation by netizen Ye Qianqian, and I felt that the content was more accurate.

It is not difficult to see from the contents of the letter that Sun Dongyun was a major general officer of the Wang puppet government, and he tried his best to woo the Japanese, and through the introduction of the Japanese, he visited Liang Hongzhi, chief executive of the "restoration government" of the puppet Republic of China. When Xiaoshan Songshou came to Visit Nanjing, when he passed through Tianjin on his way back, Sun Dongyun was ready to organize a delegation to Visit Japan to welcome; however, Xiaoshan Songshou did not receive the news, and the welcome ceremony naturally soaked in soup, and Sun Dongyun deeply regretted it. In order to please Oyama Matsushou and increase his own value, he not only presented Chinese calligraphy and paintings as a gift to Oyama Matsushou, but also bent his knees to get a business card of Oyama Matsutoshi in order to increase his value when interacting with people. Finally, do not forget to show great loyalty: "I am willing to dedicate an old bone to the construction of a new order in East Asia." ”

Sun Dongyun called himself "Major General Sun Dongyun of the Yuan Army in Botou Town, Jiaohe County, Hebei Province," in northern Hebei Province. In 1945, the government of the Republic of China once conducted a "Preliminary Investigation of the National Puppet Army", and Sun Dongyun's name was prominently listed, he belonged to the puppet army formation sequence, was the commander of the newly organized First Division, and had jurisdiction over 12,000 people. His subordinates were: Li Qingshan, commander of the First Brigade, Zhou Shengfang, commander of the Second Brigade, Cui Suhu, commander of the Third Brigade, Pan Linxun, commander of the Fourth Brigade, and Wang Yantian, commander of the Jigan Regiment.

According to the author's investigation, Sun Dongyun should be a native of Zhangzhuangzi Village, Botou City. In that year, in the Botou area, the three forces of the Japanese army, the Eighth Route Army and Sun Dongyunbu were active. Because Sun Dongyun is a native of Zhangzhuangzi, there has never been a phenomenon of Lazhuangding in the village, and Japanese devils have not entered Zhangzhuangzi Village. From this point of view, Sun Dongyun can also be regarded as doing a little good for his hometown, and it is said that some people still do not forget to talk about his benefits. A few years ago, when Botou urban area was demolished, there was a two-story small building on the east side of the road south of The Middle Road of Xinhua Street in Botou, with more than half a floor underground and more than one floor on the ground. This "Brigadier Sun" should be Sun Dongyun, because his old family still calls him "Brigadier Sun" to this day. Sun Dongyun was shot at Botou after the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression; along with his own family, who was the president of the Pseudo-Maintenance Association. Sun Dongyun has six children, and after liberation, he was scattered in Beijing and other places, but he rarely had contact with his hometown, and the recent situation is unknown.

Sincerely,

In the new green season, Your Excellency Qingsheng is healthy and celebrated.

On the occasion of your visit to Nanjing, it is a great honor to be introduced.

All members of the mission to Japan hope to welcome you on your way back to Japan via Tianjin. The matter was entrusted to the guidance officer, Mr. Watanabe, who sent a telegram to the Tokyo Councillor Pita, who could not get a reply because Mr. Pita was not in Tokyo. Mr. Watanabe also asked the Japanese Embassy in Nanjing to forward to you a letter on this matter, but the embassy replied that you had departed for Nanjing. It is a great pity (I was not able to welcome you in Tianjin).

This time in Beijing, with the mediation of Mr. Watanabe and the introduction of Major General Shimizu, I met with President Liang Hongzhi and went home yesterday.

Originally planned to give you ancient Chinese paintings and paintings when you went to Nanjing, they have been sent to you in a package, please check them, if you meet your elegant taste will be honored.

In addition, a request was made to you through Mr. Watanabe, hoping that you would give you a business card so that you could despise the business trip (transfer?). On the occasion of Nanjing, I can introduce the people in Nanjing to the people of Japan and China about the interaction between the contemptible people and Your Excellency. I hope that you will be honored to give your business card to Mr. Watanabe and his contempt.

Xiao Dongyun is willing to dedicate an old bone to crush his bones for the construction of a new order in East Asia. Your Excellency, the Noble One, gives you a lift.

Major General Sun Dongyunbai of the Yuan Army in Botou Town, Jiaohe County, Hebei Province, Northern Branch
