On June 8th, the new book launch and academic symposium of Changshu Bunko was held at the National Library of China.
According to reports, the compilation project of "Changshu Library" was launched in 2018. Standing at the height of cultural self-confidence and cultural consciousness, the Changshu Municipal Party Committee and the Changshu Municipal Government cooperated with the National Library Press to include the compilation and publication project of "Changshu Library" in the first batch of key projects supported by special funds for publicizing cultural development, bringing together the literature resources of large libraries such as the National Library, Shanghai Library and Nanjing Library, and at the same time, making full use of the resources of Changshu Library and Museum Collection, excavating the achievements of Changshu's academic works in the past. The initial compilation was completed at the end of 2019, with 16 hardcovers, a total of 100 volumes, and 401 kinds of important literature before the early Qing Dynasty in Changshu, covering academic, literary, historical, scientific and technological, medical and other fields, including a large number of manuscripts (copies), batch school books, and rare engravings.
Changshu is the birthplace of Wu culture, the gathering of humanities, is a national historical and cultural city, Changshu culture has an important influence in Jiangnan culture and even Chinese culture. Changshu and the national map have deep roots, and important collections from Changshu, such as the Zhao's Maewangguan, the Qu's Tieqin Bronze Sword Building, and the Mao's Jigu Pavilion, are all collected in the current National Library. The "Changshu Library" series of books presents not only the essence of the excellent history and culture of Changshu area, but also an important aspect of Jiangnan culture and Chinese culture, an important achievement in inheriting and carrying forward excellent traditional history and culture, and will surely provide important reference and demonstration for the collation and compilation of local documents in other parts of the country.
In addition, the "Daocheng Southeast - Yushan Cultural Genre Exhibition" jointly organized by the National Library of China and the Changshu Municipal Bureau of Radio, Film and Television and Tourism was launched at the National Museum of Classics from June 8. The national library collects precious ancient books such as books, scribes, batch point books, school books and books collected by successive Changshu bibliophiles, and the Changshu Museum collects cultural relics related to the Yushan cultural genre, showing the fine works of the Yushan School of Painting headed by Wang Yi, the Yushan Poetry School led by Qian Qianyi, the Yushan Qin School founded by Yan Lan, and the Yushan Yin School represented by Lin Gao.
