The 4th China Enterprise Forum was held in Jinan from September 23 to 24, and representatives from all walks of life from politics, commerce and academia at home and abroad gathered together to discuss the responsibilities and missions, opportunities and challenges, programs and paths of Chinese enterprises under the unprecedented changes in the past century through online and offline methods, focusing on the theme of "Chinese Enterprises under the New Development Pattern: Mission and Path", based on the new development pattern, helping high-quality development, discussing cooperation and creating a better future.

At the forum, Tan Zuojun, member of the Party Committee and deputy director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, said that the innovation ability and technical strength of China's enterprises are steadily improving, and the "Global Competitiveness Report" released by the World Economic Forum shows that in 2020, China's research and experimental development expenditure increased by 10.3% over the previous year, and the investment in research and development of enterprises accounted for more than 70% of the total R&D investment in the whole society, and a number of scientific and technological enterprises ranked among the forefront of global technological innovation. In the future, state-owned enterprises should strengthen collaborative innovation, grasp the key points of talents and mechanisms, and create a good environment conducive to innovation.
Tan Zuojun stressed that under the background of the double carbon target, it is necessary to actively cultivate green and low-carbon new kinetic energy to promote sustainable economic and social development. He said that the SASAC is formulating guidance to promote the implementation of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality by central enterprises, giving play to the strategic support role of the state-owned economy in green and low-carbon transformation and upgrading, and striving to make positive contributions to achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals on schedule. In addition, Tan Zuojun also mentioned that by deepening the reform of state-owned enterprises and accelerating the construction of world-class enterprises, it fully stimulates the development vitality of market players, achieves high-quality development, and builds a new development pattern.
