The kings of the Jin Dynasty who were the princes of the kingdoms of the North Sea

The first King of the North Sea, Sima Ling. Sima Ling had already mentioned when introducing Rencheng Wang, Zishan, the eldest son of Sima Yi's seventh brother, Cao Wei's subordinate, and Sima Tong, the Marquis of Anchengting. After the establishment of the Western Jin Dynasty, Sima Yan made Sima Ling the King of Beihai, with 4,700 households. After serving as King of Beihai for thirteen years, Sima Ling was renamed King of Rencheng by Sima Yan in August of the third year of Xianning (277 AD).

The last King of the North Sea, Sima Yu. After Sima Ling was renamed, the reappearance of the King of Beihai was already in February of the fourth year of Taikang (283 AD). Sima You, the second son of Sima You, the King of Qi, was given the title of King of Beihai. Sima Yu (司馬寔), also spelled Deep Field, was originally the Marquis of Changle Pavilion. He was able to inherit the title mainly because he inherited Sima Zhao's son, Sima Guangde, the King of Guanghan, but instead of the King of Guanghan, he was renamed the King of Beihai. After that, he successively served as the general of Pingdong, the false festival, and the regular attendant of the Kasan Horse. After his brother Sima Ran came to power, Sima Yan replaced Sima Ran in Xuchang, and then served as the general of Annam, the military governor of Yuzhou, and increased the number of households by 20,000. However, Sima Yu did not go to his post, but remained as a general in the service and the shangjun, giving thousands of soldiers and hundreds of horses. In December of the second year of Yongning (302 AD), with the murder of Sima Yuan, Sima Yan was also implicated and deposed as a Shuren, and the State of Beihai was extinct.
