Sun Jinghai, director of the Measurement and Control Engineering Department of FAST Center, joined FAST in 2005 as a graduate student in Nan Rendong, participated in the simulation and experimental research of feeder support systems, and entered the FAST engineering team after graduating from graduate school, and has carried out key technology research, scheme design and engineering implementation in many disciplines.
He said that as a young science and technology worker, "I have injected 15 years of sweat and hard work into FAST, and FAST has also helped me grow, expand my knowledge and experience, and continue to gain confidence in overcoming difficulties and setbacks."
Gan Hengqian, director of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at fast center, believes that the FAST team is a team with a majority of young people and a huge role, and many of them have grown up with FAST. She said that from her 20s to her 30s now, she will continue to work at FAST. Pan Gaofeng, director of the general management department of FAST Center, graduated from the FAST center in 2008 and joined the FAST team, and has completed the tasks of site selection of six towers supported by FAST feeders, the development and construction of large-span flexible six-cable parallel robots, and the development of moving optical cables.
He said that in the past 13 years of ups and downs, he can often encounter the desperate situation of "mountains and rivers with no doubts", and can also enjoy the joy of "willow dark flowers and bright villages". Jiang Peng, executive deputy director and chief engineer of fast center, has been keeping a WeChat message to Nan Rendong to report "our telescope can track" and Nan Rendong's last reply before his death. He believes that Mr. Nan is the starting point for the story of everyone on the FAST team.
Qian Lei, head of the scientific observation team of the Scientific Observation and Data Department of fast center who has been working in FAST for 12 years, recalled that when he first came to FAST to report, Teacher Nan Rendong invited him and his new colleagues to have lunch in the canteen and talk about future work.
In Qian Lei's impression, Teacher Nan seems to be in the unit at any time, and he can occasionally meet Teacher Nan when he goes to the office to get a book during the National Day and Spring Festival holidays. At this time, Teacher Nan asked me to discuss some scientific problems, all of which he thought about in the early years and between engineering work. As a graduate student jointly trained by the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Huang Menglin joined the FAST team after graduating in June 2014, mainly responsible for the construction and operation and maintenance of fast data centers. Sun Chun revealed that FAST has developed an English application review system for observation projects to achieve "one-stop" services from application, creation, arrangement and execution.
