On October 9th, the competition opened at Guangdong Light Industry Vocational and Technical College, and for the next 9 days, they will compete in five major industrial design competitions, including jewelry designers, furniture designers, ceramic product designers, footwear designers, and nondestructive testers (reverse design and 3D testing), of which footwear designers and jewelry designers are being held at the school's Guangzhou campus.
This competition is the Guangdong Provincial Selection Competition of the 2021 National Industrial Design Vocational Skills Competition, sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and the Guangdong Provincial Light Industry Federation, with jewelry designers, furniture designers, ceramic product designers, footwear designers, non-destructive testers (reverse design and three-dimensional testing) five competitions, the participants are from Enterprise employees, college teachers and students in Guangdong Province. According to the notice of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the 2021 National Industrial Design Vocational Skills Competition will be held in Shenzhen in November, which is a type of vocational skills competition, and the winners will have the opportunity to obtain the title of "National Technical Expert" and can be promoted to the vocational skill level.
The ongoing two competitions, Jewelry Designer and Footwear Designer, are held over two days. Among them, the jewelry designer competition is divided into three modules: theoretical examination, creative design and drawing, and metalworking, with a total of 19.5 hours in 2 days, and the contestants complete the production tasks of each module every day. Footwear designer competition is divided into seven modules: theoretical examination, footwear product creative design, footwear product structure design and board making, material cutting and upper surface production, bottom molding, shoe decoration, professional quality and safety awareness, and the competition time is 12 hours in 2 days.
The game is divided into two parts: theory and practice.
Footwear designer competition referee Han Jianlin told Nandu reporter that the competition not only examines the design ability of the players, but also tests the ability to make hands-on production, "In the past, this kind of competition was for a single type of work, or stayed on paper, to see who has high creativity, strong concept, no molding works, and now the players have to complete the whole process, and they must take into account fashion, function and market and other factors." He said that the winning works of this competition will likely enter the production of enterprises.
Hands-on competition works will have the opportunity to be put into production.
At the opening ceremony, Lu Kunjian, the organizer of the competition and president of Guangdong Light Industry Vocational and Technical College, said that at present, the demand for higher vocational industrial design talents in the industrial design industry has risen sharply, and multi-level and multi-category industrial design talents have great potential for appreciation, and technical skills talents with high theoretical and knowledge literacy and strong hands-on ability have received more and more attention from society. The holding of the Industrial Design Vocational Skills Competition is not only conducive to promoting the deep integration of industrial design and manufacturing, but also conducive to stimulating design innovation, promoting the transformation of design achievements, better docking the frontier needs of the design industry, improving the quality of design talent training in vocational colleges and universities, and expanding the influence of vocational education.
