Similarly, in chess and card projects, including Go, the degree of attention and capital investment of local governments are also different, and there are huge differences. In many places, the chess academy is small in size and has general facilities, which is difficult to carry out large-scale competitions and activities, so Guiyang's great construction of the chess academy has obviously set a good benchmark for other places.

Let's first look at the Guiyang New Chess Academy project. It is understood that the opening ceremony of Guiyang Chess Academy (New Courtyard) was carried out a few days ago, the total investment of the project is about 590 million yuan, the total land area is about 40 acres, for the underground floor, five floors above ground modern building. The total height of the building is 23.25m, and the total construction area is 45530 square meters. The construction goal of Guiyang Chess Academy (New Academy) is five first-class: first-class environment, first-class architecture, first-class supporting facilities, first-class facilities, and first-class management. The positioning of the new chess academy is: four centers, namely the chess and card event center of the International and Domestic Comprehensive Games, the national chess and card project training center, the chess and card culture display center and the "land and sea new channel" international Go cultural exchange center.

Dear chess fans, does your city have a special fixed chess academy? Is there such a large investment in chess and card projects? As far as I know, your city is probably not as high-end as Guiyang.

It is a five-storey building with a total construction area of 9,456 square meters, which was officially opened on March 15, 1992. It is not only a venue for international and domestic chess and card competitions, but also a base camp for national Go teams, chess teams, chess teams and bridge teams. Now it seems that the scale of this building is far from adapting to the current development situation, which greatly hinders the development of large-scale chess and card competitions and activities. The chess and card center of a superpower cannot even be less than one-fifth of the area of Guiyang Chess Academy! I don't know if the Chinese chess academy has a grand blueprint for large-scale expansion, and I think the leaders of the chess academy must actively strive for it and solve practical problems as soon as possible.
Second, Shanghai Chess Academy. Located in the center of Shanghai, Nanjing West Road covers an area of only 6,002 square meters and a construction area of 12,424 square meters. Greater Shanghai is a treasure land rich in Chinese professional Go masters, Chen Zude, Hua Yigang, Chang Hao, Qian Yuping, Cao Dayuan, Rui Yiwei, Qiu Jun, Hu Yaoyu, Jiang Weijie, Fan Tingyu and so on are all Shanghainese. Shanghai's Go cause is absolutely in a leading position in the country, in addition to the Shanghai Chess Academy, the chess academies and training places in various districts are many, I have the privilege of staying in Shanghai for a few years, and found that all kinds of Go training classes, Go classrooms, and Go dojos at all levels are all over the city, becoming a beautiful landscape in some residential communities.

Third, Hangzhou Chess Academy. Its other name is China Chess Academy Hangzhou Branch, where it is located in the Hangzhou Chess Academy Building (also known as Tianyuan Building), is the country's largest Go competition and activity venue, located on the banks of the beautiful Qiantang River, completed in 2007, with a total construction area of about 60,000 square meters. Although the building area ranks first in the country, it is not all used for chess and card projects. Inside the building, there is a Chinese Weiqi Library and a Chinese Weiqi Museum, which is a five-star hotel with the theme of chess culture, and is a super building integrating eating, living, sightseeing, and Go activities. This building is allocated by the Hangzhou Municipal Government to the Hangzhou Branch of the China Chess Academy free of charge, in addition to its own use, some floors are rented out, and the rent obtained is used to maintain the daily expenses of the Chess Academy, which is really a groundbreaking and powerful measure to support the cause of Go.
Chess academies in other places, such as Chongqing Chess Academy, Jiangsu Chess Academy, Chengdu Chess Academy, Luoyang Chess Academy, etc., obviously cannot be compared with Guiyang and Hangzhou. While marveling at the large-scale construction of the new chess academy in Guiyang, I look forward to the construction of local chess and card competitions and activity centers throughout the country according to local conditions, and contribute to the prosperity of China's chess and card industry.
