Since yesterday (26th), Wangcang County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, has suffered continuous heavy rainfall, with the highest precipitation reaching 147.4 mm. Heavy rainfall caused three landslides in the section of Provincial Highway 303 from Wangcang County in Sichuan to Ningqiang County in Shaanxi Province, affecting the passage of nearly 100,000 people along the route.
From the afternoon of the 26th to the evening of the 26th, affected by heavy rain, landslides occurred on the three roads of Provincial Highway 303 from Wangcang County, Sichuan to Ningqiang County, Shaanxi Province, K478+258, K445+380, and K452+260, causing traffic disruption. The amount of landslides reached more than 1,600 square meters, but fortunately there were no casualties or damage to vehicles.
Due to the continuous heavy rainfall on the evening of the 26th, there is still a risk of landslide collapse along the road, and the local temporary emergency closure of the road. On the morning of the 27th, the rain weakened, and the local transportation department quickly organized large-scale machinery and equipment to rush to the scene to carry out emergency rescue and clearance work.
Du Rui, director of the Highway Maintenance Affairs Center of Wangcang County, Guangyuan City, said that at present, three landslides have been rushed to one, and two are expected to be rushed before 6 p.m. today (27th), and the next step will continue to increase the investigation of hidden dangers to ensure the safety of the people.
