Chairman Mao spared no expense to rescue Huang Jingwu, who was unfortunately buried alive, and his father and son were all deputy state officials

In the living room of grandfather Huang Yanpei, there is a portrait of his father, next to which he reads: "Every time we walk through Tiananmen Square in Beijing, we see the monument to the people's heroes high, and we remember that one of the thousands of people who sacrificed their lives for the interests of the country and the people is you."

On May 27, 1949, Shanghai was liberated! The Kuomintang sneaked to Taiwan, the white terror disappeared under the impact of the red, and the clouds that hung over the hearts of the Shanghainese people also disappeared at this moment, and all the Shanghainese were immersed in the joy of Shanghai's liberation, singing and dancing to welcome the arrival of new China.

However, not everyone can see the liberation, even though they have devoted all their energy, even their lives, to liberation.

Huang Yanpei's son Huang Jingwu, was arrested and imprisoned on the eve of liberation, until the liberation of Shanghai, never came back, at this time his wife already had a bad premonition, the heart was anxious, every time she heard that the body was exhumed, she rushed to identify the body, if it was not her husband's body, her worries would deepen a layer, and she would also be happy.

The mixed feelings continued until one day, in the open space of the Kuomintang Secrecy Bureau prison, it was announced that 13 bodies of comrades who had died for the revolution had been exhumed, and Huang Jingwu's body was among them.

Huang Jingwu was buried alive by the enemy on the eve of liberation, and when his body was exhumed, he was still tied up with five flowers and wore a blue hood on his head, and when the news of his sacrifice came, his wife was grief-stricken, which cast a shadow on the hearts of Chairman Mao and Zhou Enlai and others.

At the beginning of Huang Jingwu's arrest, Chairman Mao received the news and immediately and decisively ordered Zhou Enlai, Li Kenong, and others to rescue Huang Jingwu at all costs.

The man in charge of guarding Huang Jingwu at that time was named Mao Sen, the nephew of Mao Renfeng, who was himself a greedy man for money, and it was precisely because Chairman Mao knew about this person that he issued an order to rescue huang at all costs, that is, as long as Mao Sen was willing to release Huang Jingwu, the Communist Party was willing to pay any amount of ransom.

Mao Sen was already greedy for money, and naturally gladly agreed, after all, holding Huang Jingwu would not be good for him, far from the fact that money would come, and he could also use it when he went to Taiwan in the future.

Unfortunately, people are not as good as heavenly calculations, and just after Mao Sen promised to release Huang Jingwu, he changed again. It turned out that he had received Mao Renfeng's order, and he did not dare to ask for money.

Finally, on the dark night of May 17, Huang Jingwu, who had been tortured in prison but remained unyielding and did not reveal half a word, was broken by Wang Xinheng, a Kuomintang agent, and buried alive.

Huang Jingwu, who sacrificed on the eve of liberation, was called "a person who passed by new China" by later generations, and countless people felt sorry for his sacrifice; before his death, he had made outstanding contributions to the cause of liberation, but he could not see the day of liberation with his own eyes.

In 1929, on the endless sea, an ocean-going passenger ship sailing from the United States to Shanghai sped on the sea, and several young people on the deck leaned against the side of the ship, talking to each other, their eyes looking in the direction of Shanghai, as if they could see the mainland with all their strength.

These young people are classmates who have returned from their studies in the United States, they have studied in the United States for many years, and now they have returned to China after graduation.

At that time, China was far inferior to the United States, and students who went to study in the United States often had two purposes, one was to stay in the United States for further study after completing their studies; the other was to return to China to become officials after completing their studies.

A classmate looked at a young man who was obviously taller than several others, "Are you going to return to your homeland in the future, or are you going to stay in the United States?" The tall young man heard the questions of his classmates and replied without hesitation:

"I can't forget my motherland, poor and backward China needs our young generation to use the scientific knowledge learned to change its face." I don't want a high salary, and I don't want a comfortable life. However, the determination to return to serve the motherland is unchangeable. ”

The young man who said this was named Huang Jingwu. When I first saw the record of his words, it had a great impact on my heart, and his single-minded desire to serve the country infected me, reminding me of a sentence by Premier Zhou, who I had studied since I was a child, "Reading for the rise of China." ”

Huang Jingwu is moving towards premier Zhou's childhood ideals, and he is a practitioner of reading and patriotism to save the country.

Huang Jingwu was born in Chuansha, his father was the famous democratic educator Huang Yanpei, Huang Jingwu's family is very good, he could have lived a happy life without much effort.

But what about him? Even if he was born into a famous family, but he worked harder than anyone, coupled with his talent, he soon stood out among children of the same age, his university was studied at Tsinghua University, after graduation, he went to Harvard University in the United States for further study, obtained a master's degree in economics, and as soon as he completed his studies, he rushed back to the motherland impatiently, and the enthusiasm of serving the country made him return to his heart like an arrow.

After Huang Jingwu returned to Shanghai, he worked as an accountant at the Shanghai Salt Audit Institute.

Huang Jingwu, who returned to the motherland again, immediately threw 100% enthusiasm into the work, in his view, in any post for the development of the motherland, it is the same!

Huang Jingwu, who is full of energy, seems to have returned to his time at Tsinghua University, his blood is boiling, and he once shouted for his ideals: "Fight for national power abroad and punish national thieves at home."

Huang Jingwu put all his enthusiasm for serving the country into the existing work, he gave full play to the role of his post, tirelessly followed the American mentors, one by one to investigate the salt industry in various places, he wanted to promote the formalization of the national salt accounting system through his own efforts.

The ideal is very full, the reality is very bone, and often the full revenge of aspiring young people is withered and withered after experiencing the tempering of practice. Huang Jingwu is no exception, just when he threw himself into his work, he fell into an invisible conflict of interests, because he "refused to collude with the adulterous businessmen to commit fraud", and Huang Jingwu, who was diligent and unremitting, was actually suspended.

Huang Jingwu, like a piece of crimson steel, suddenly encountered a splash of cold water, stirring up violent ideological turmoil, until this moment he truly understood that relying on his own efforts can not strengthen the motherland, if you want to become rich and strong motherland, you must first change this corrupt old society.

There is a patriotic enthusiasm and full of economics, but there is always no way to serve the country, out of the mud and not stained, but to be excluded, the hero's sense of powerlessness in the useless place, suddenly filled Huang Jingwu's chest.

Just when he was depressed, an article entitled "On New Democracy" came into view, stirring up a thousand waves with one stone, and Chairman Mao's writings ignited his new fighting spirit, like a bright lamp, guiding the road in the dark night.

The situation in China was turbulent at that time, Shanghai on the eve of liberation was shrouded in white terror, the Kuomintang knew that its time was short, the action during that time was particularly crazy, they had begun to prepare to sneak to Taiwan, before that, they began to transport Shanghai property and materials to Taiwan in large quantities for future use.

Huang Jingwu, then the auditor of the Central Bank, witnessed all this happening, and millions of taels of gold were continuously transported from Shanghai to Taiwan. Huang Jingwu was so anxious that he gathered the intelligence and materials of the "four lines and two bureaus" to prepare for the future liberation of Shanghai, and he even boldly stood up and united the commercial forces of all sides to organize the Kuomintang to send property to Taiwan.

"We are going to crack down on those bureaucratic capitalists and prevent them from transferring their property, which is the property of the people, the property of the state."

Huang Jingwu is such a person, when he encounters something that is just and offended, he must stand up, no matter who the other party is. Huang Jingwu was particularly disgusted with Kuomintang agents; once, when Huang Jingwu was riding a bus in Chongqing, he encountered a Kuomintang agent who not only did not give money in the car, but also made rough moves at the flight attendants, beat them not to count, and even took out a gun to demonstrate to the crowd.

Huang Jingwu was not afraid, and immediately stood up and stepped forward to rescue the flight attendant, because he took the lead, everyone rose up to help, and the Kuomintang agents only then accepted their arrogance and left in sorrow.

Another time, Huang Jingwu saw a French patrol beating a Chinese rickshaw driver in the French Concession in Shanghai, And Huang Jingwu didn't have time to think about it too much, and immediately stepped forward, blocked in front of the rickshaw driver, and broke the siege for him.

Huang Jingwu's character of seeing righteousness and courage and fighting hard comes from the influence of his father Huang Yanpei on him.

"Young chengting court training, kun zhi has a father's style, and reading can understand the great righteousness."

As the Kuomintang's white terror deepened, he began to take action against people from the democratic parties, and Huang Jingwu's father, Huang Yanpei, had already seen the reality clearly at this moment, and he personally formed the China Democratic League organization and the Democratic Construction Alliance with the purpose of exposing the atrocities of the Kuomintang.

The democrats' behavior had clearly begun to favor the Communist Party, much to the chagrin of the Kuomintang, which began to send a large number of spies to spy on the prominent democrats.

On the KUOMINTANG blacklist of democrats, Huang Yanpei's big name was listed first, because his influence in China at that time was relatively large, and the Kuomintang agents threw themselves into the rat trap, only monitoring him, and did not rush to do it.

However, this does not mean that Huang Yanpei's situation is safe, because Chiang Kai-shek has personally expressed his attitude toward democratic parties and well-known people without party affiliation, and if the situation develops to a certain extent, they will kill a hundred people.

Chiang Kai-shek's orders to Mao Renfeng were:

"They are common to the Communists and are immediately arrested when they find out!" To the first evil elements, kill one hundred people! ”

The "chief evil elements" mentioned by Chiang Kai-shek are naturally included in them. In May 1948, at the beginning of the victory of the Liberation War, an invitation letter from the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference was issued by the Communist Party of China, and the red color spread to people from all walks of life throughout the country in an instant, causing strong repercussions.

Huang Yanpei and Chairman Mao

Huang Jingwu's father, Huang Yanpei, is being invited. Huang Yanpei has extremely high prestige among the democratic parties and well-known personalities without party affiliation, and his going to the meeting will prompt the enthusiasm of the whole country to participate in the meeting to be even higher; in such a situation, Chiang Kai-shek obviously does not want to see it, and he sends secret agents to monitor Huang Yanpei day and night, and as soon as he leaves Shanghai, he will immediately carry out arrests.

Since ancient times, China has had the saying that "the son knows no more than the father", in fact, the person who knows the father best is not the son? Huang Yanpei was depressed all day because he could not attend the meeting, and Huang Jingwu, who was also concerned about the people of the motherland, naturally knew the bitterness in his father Huang Yanpei's heart, so Huang Jingwu took the initiative to propose a brilliant plan - the golden cicada shed its shell.

Mao Sen, director of the Shanghai Municipal Police Bureau and director of the Military Command Station, entrusted the task of monitoring Huang Yanpei to Special Agent Captain Wang Xinheng, ordering him to monitor day and night without making any mistakes, and even uttered the cruel password of "once he resists arrest, he will be shot on the spot." It can be seen that if Huang Yanpei wants to leave Shanghai to attend the meeting, the Kuomintang will kill the killer.

On this day, the Huang family's Rongkang villa was full of lights, people came and went, and the special agent captain Wang Xinheng was very vigilant and sent someone to inquire, only to know that the Huang family was going to hold a 71-year-old birthday for Huang Yanpei.

When the agents heard the news, they issued a dismissive and vicious word: "Oh! This bad old man, it is difficult to say whether his own life can be saved, and what birthday is he wishing! ”

Soon, the agents saw Huang Yanpei and his wife Yao Weijun riding out of the door, they quickly followed, Huang Yanpei's car stopped at the entrance of the company, Huang Yanpei and his wife went in for about 40 minutes, the agents were anxious, afraid that he escaped from the back door, just about to rush in to check, only to see Huang Yanpei and his wife come out again, the agents only grew a breath.

In the following month, the agents stared at Huang Yanpei tightly, not daring to leave for a moment, just when they were very proud, a message came, like a thunderbolt on a sunny day, "Huang Yanpei has officially participated in the meeting."

Huang Yanpei spoke at the first plenary session of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference.

The agents all questioned the authenticity of this news and rushed into the Huang family, only to find that the "Huang Yanpei" they had been monitoring was actually Huang Jingwu, who was very similar to him.

When Mao Renfeng received the news, he was ashamed and angry, and ordered his men to kill Huang Jingwu, so that Huang Jingwu, who was "loyal and filial to both worlds," fell forever on the eve of the liberation of Shanghai without being rewarded, and sacrificed with regret under the cruel means of the enemy.

The Shanghai Municipal People's Government posthumously recognized him as a revolutionary martyr and was buried in the Chuansha Martyrs Cemetery.

After the founding of New China, Huang Yanpei painfully lost his beloved son, saw the new China rising from the ground, and the scene of The Heavenly Celebration jumped in front of him, and wrote sadly in the article: "If Jingwu died, if he foresaw that 8 days after his death, 6 million citizens of Shanghai would be liberated, and 470,000,000 people in all of China would be liberated one after another. Even if you die a miserable death, you can rest assured. ”

After Huang Jingwu's sacrifice, Chairman Mao sent Zhou Enlai to the Huang family to offer condolences, and Zhou Enlai met Huang Yanpei at the Huang family and extended an olive branch, hoping that he could "go out of the mountains" and serve as vice premier of the new Chinese government council and minister of light industry.

Mr. Huang Yanpei has a great influence in the industrial and commercial circles, but everyone also knows that Mr. Huang Yanpei has two clear names: he does not accumulate wealth and does not become an official.

Mr. Huang Yanpei has been studying all his life, sparing no effort to raise donations for the War of Resistance, and he has gone to Nanyang six times, he has raised huge sums of money, but he has always been a two-sleeved breeze. As for the official, he was even more unmoved, and twice refused to serve as the chief of education.

When Mr. Huang Yanpei listened to Zhou Enlai's invitation, he still put forward his own criterion of "not being an official", but Zhou Enlai's words made him resolutely go out of the mountains and become vice premier of the State Council and minister of light industry, vice chairman of the National People's Congress, and vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, making great contributions to new China.

In November 1946, Zhou Enlai (second from left) discussed the political situation with Huang Yanpei (first from left), Guo Moruo (second from right), and Shen Junru (first from right).

At that time, Zhou Enlai sincerely said to Mr. Huang Yanpei: "Now it is the people's government, not to be an official, but to do things, and to serve the people. ”

Following Huang Yanpei, in 2003, Huang Jingwu's son Huang Mengfu was elected vice chairman of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and in 2008, he was re-elected as the vice chairman of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Although Huang Jingwu died, his father and son were both deputy state ministers of New China, and the liberation of all of Shanghai also had his share of credit.

Please rest assured, China today has not only been liberated, but also has become strong, the future development of the motherland will be handed over to our descendants, and you will always live in our hearts, your fearless spirit of sacrifice, immortal!
