On September 28, 1927, more than 6,000 people of the Nanchang rebel army led by Zhou Enlai, He Long, and Ye Ting marched from Rongcheng to Fengshun in two ways, joined the peasant rebel army in the Dongjiang area, launched an agrarian revolution, and then seized Guangzhou and established a Revolutionary Base Area in Guangdong. At noon on the 28th, the rebel army encountered Wang Jun's garrison brigade at the head of the red road in Fushan Village, Yuhu Town. The rebels forced the enemy in the direction of Fengshun.
