On the eve of the Journalists' Day, the inaugural meeting of the Huang Yuansheng Research Association was held in Chaisang District, Jiujiang City. The establishment of the Huang Yuansheng Research Association aims to further excavate the resources of historical sites, create research websites, compile and print books and periodicals, and make the greatest efforts to restore Huang Yuansheng's former residence, prepare for the construction of his memorial, enrich the connotation of tourism, carry forward excellent traditional culture, and enhance the geographical cohesion of Jiujiang.
Huang Yuansheng, an outstanding modern journalist, from 1885 to 1915, a native of Chaisang District, Jiujiang City, was once known as "China's first journalist in the true modern sense", and his "Yuansheng Communication" was regarded as a major brand in the Chinese press at that time. For more than a hundred years, scholars from various disciplines such as journalism, history, and literature at home and abroad have conducted in-depth research and high evaluation of his journalistic thought, political thought, and life history, and "Cihai" has made accurate accounts of his historical contributions.
In recent years, a group of enthusiastic people in Chaisang District, Jiujiang City, have been committed to collecting and studying the data of Huang Yuansheng at home and abroad, examining his relics, and successfully compiled and printed the "Compilation of Huang Yuansheng Research Materials" on the eve of last year's Press Day.
