In 1959, there was a Go competition at the first National Games, with Liu Dihuai of Shanghai winning the championship and Beijing GuoTisheng second. I was very young. There were no Go matches at the 2nd National Games in 1963.
The 3rd National Games competed with Wang Runan
In 1975, the third National Games, it was a game that changed my destiny. At that time, I was still in the Heilongjiang Shanhe Farm, because I had to go to the field to participate in the competition, I had to ask the farm for leave, the farm leader did not know what Go was, thinking that I was "going through the back door" and often obstructed. This time, Go entered the National Games, and I finally became a member of the Heilongjiang Provincial Team as an athlete.

In the first round of the final, I met Chen Zude. When I was very young, Elder Chen was the leader of Chinese Go and the first master in China. Before that, I was always suppressed by his aggressive momentum in the game, this time, I finally broke the psychological barrier, defeated Chen Zude in the middle of the game, and finally won the gold medal of the National Games with a record of fourteen consecutive wins.
In 1979, I won the men's individual gold medal in Go at the 4th National Games. That was the golden age of my career. There was no Go at the 1983 National Games.

In 1987, the sixth National Games, this year's Go did not have an individual competition, only a team competition, I played as a Member of the Beijing Team, but unfortunately the overall strength of the team was slightly inferior and failed to win the championship.
The 7th National Games competed with Ma Xiaochun
In 1993, the 7th National Games, the Beijing team had Zhang Wendong, Kong Jie and other young players to join, the overall strength was greatly improved, and finally we won the team championship. This is my third National Games gold medal.
After that, Go temporarily left the National Games, and did not return to the National Games until 2017.
