Alain Hutton: Manchester United 'hard to refuse' for 'amazing' Leeds United stars

Former Premier League defender Alain Hutton said a move to Manchester United would be "very difficult to refuse" for Leeds United star Calvin Phillips.

Phillips spent his entire career at Leeds United. He has always been a good prospect, but his race has gone up a notch under Marcelo Bielsa.

The midfielder was impressive in the Premier League last season and is now one of the main players in the England national team.

United have reportedly expressed their interest in signing Leeds United midfielder.

Earlier this week, Hutton said he was "less certain" whether Phillips was dedicating his future to Leeds United:

"They tried to tie him up and that didn't surprise me. There would be all sorts of teams sniffing around him.

"It's fair play for him and he's doing well at Leeds United. He is now an outstanding defender for England. He took his game to the next level.

"I don't think Leeds United were the same team when he wasn't playing. They will be desperate to reach a long-term agreement with him.

"But will he sign one?" I'm not sure. In the next year or so, there will be a lot of teams behind him.

'We'll have to see how it turns out, but he can definitely play at a very high level.

Now in an interview with Football Insider, Hutton suggested that Phillips "tick" Manchester United:

"Honestly, I think it's a little bit different now.

"I think the opportunity to move to a club like Manchester United is hard to turn down. United desperately need players like Calvin Phillips.

"They are very eager for players like this. He ticked all the boxes for them. If I'm completely honest, I think he can make Manchester United a better team.

"I think leeds United will have a hard time linking him to any longer deal. I know fans won't like me saying that, but it's true.

"The facts are there for all to see. He's a fantastic player. ”
