From October 13 to 16, the "Belt and Road" 2021 Shenzhen Chess International Invitational Tournament will be held in Shenzhen Guangming. Wang Tianyi, Meng Chen, Zhao Xinxin, Hong Zhi, Xie Jing, Cao Yanlei and other 6 male grandmasters, Wang Linna, Chen Xinglin, Dang Guolei, Shi Fenglan and other 4 female chess masters and 12 overseas chess players participated.
The competition was guided by the Chess and Card Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese Chess Association, sponsored by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, organized by the Guangming District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, and the Shenzhen Chess Association, and co-organized by the Guangming District Chess Association.
The competition is divided into three categories: professional men's group, professional women's group and overseas group, with a total prize money of 164,000 yuan. The professional group is an offline competition, with a prize money of 35,000 yuan for the champion of the men's group and 25,000 yuan for the champion of the women's group; the overseas group invites 6 countries/regions to participate, and each country/region invites 2 chess players to participate, which is an online competition, with a total prize money of 26,000 yuan.
The men's competition is divided into two stages: the preliminary round robin system is adopted, the first two enter the final; the final adopts the first five-game fast chess system, the first game is selected by the first place in the preliminary round, and then the first place is changed in turn, and the winner who wins 6 points is the champion; if the five-game draw is drawn, the first game is added to a super fast chess game, and the winner (who scores 2 points) is the champion; if the super fast chess is played, the super fast chess is changed first, and the super fast chess is continued until the winner is decided. The women's division uses a double round robin format, with 2 points for each game winner and 1 point for each chess game. The outer competition adopts the points arrangement system and has a total of 5 rounds.
At present, Shenzhen is accelerating the construction of the world's intellectual sports city, creating a "Chinese chess town", and chess high-end brand competitions continue. Shenzhen will also hold the Shenzhen Immortals Guiding Way Opening Chess Masters, the Shenzhen Chess All-Star Tournament, and the Third "Pengcheng Cup" National Chess Qualifying Tournament.
