author:Too shi gongshu

Tang Yao was talented and intelligent, with a benevolent heart, he shone like the sun on everyone, but also warmed everyone's heart, he was another very prestigious leader after the Yan Emperor and the Yellow Emperor.

During Yao's reign, he worked diligently for the people and conscientiously governed the country. As the leader of the tribal alliance in the world, he never wasted luxuries, he lived in thatched huts, ate coarse grains and light rice, wore coarse cloth clothes, and even in the cold winter, he only wore a deer skin to resist the wind and cold. People looked in their eyes and hurt in their hearts, and said to him, "You are our leader, eating, wearing, and living should be the best. Yao smiled and shook his head, and replied, "The reason why I am like this is that I want you all to eat, dress, warm, and live a rich life, and in my country, even if one person is hungry and frozen, it is my Yao's incompetence!" You are my beloved subjects, how can I bear to watch you suffer and enjoy myself?" Hearing these words, people were moved to tears, so they trusted him more and admired him even more.

Yao was good at recruiting talents and assigning them suitable positions to give full play to their strengths, so that his men had many capable and responsible courtiers, who had made great contributions to the development of the country.

He appointed the Xi and He clans to calculate the operation of the sun, moon, and stars, and formulated the corresponding calendar. Xi and He set the year as 366 days, divided into four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter, and also set up leap months to adjust the four hours of each year, and then told people about the annual solar season, so that people can understand the cycle law of nature and arrange production and life. Thanks to the proper use of personnel and effective measures, all undertakings have flourished, and a scene of vigor and vitality has emerged everywhere throughout the country.

Yao was born noble, but he never despised others. Although as the supreme leader, he never acts arbitrarily. He often held tribal meetings to solicit widespread opinions and discuss the best way to govern the country. After 70 years of Yao's reign, at a tribal meeting, he asked the ministers, "In your minds, who can rule the hundred officials and assist me in governing the country?" After discussion, everyone agreed that Shun was both filial and talented, and was the most suitable candidate. Shun's father was blind and of very bad quality, and after he married and had children, he wanted to get rid of Shun. Shun not only did not resent him, but also especially filial piety to the elderly, loved his brother, and persuaded them to follow the right path. At that time, although Shun had not yet established a family, he was already famous. In order to fully understand Shun, Yao married his two daughters to him as wives to observe his inner virtues, and then sent 9 entourage to observe his external performance and ability to do things.

Shun was very cultivated, and after marriage, he did not indulge his wives because they were the daughters of the emperor, but let them support the elderly, follow their brothers, and pay attention to the way of women. The 9 entourage also did things for him faithfully and respectfully to him. Yao thought that Shun had done a good job, so he let him take up the position of Situ to coordinate the relationship between the monarch, father and son, husband and wife, brothers, neighbors, etc., so that everyone in the world would obey the teachings of the five constants (referring to the rules that the monarch, father and son, husband and wife, brother, and neighbor should follow). Under Shun's guidance, many families are harmonious with Meimei, and the neighbors are also very harmonious. Yao was very happy and began to involve him in important national affairs. He handled all kinds of affairs properly, and did things in a very orderly manner; not only did he do a good job, but he also behaved with great majesty, and all the people were very respectful to him. Yao also sent Shun to the deep mountains and old forests covered with river swamps, and even if he encountered a storm, Shun would not lose his way and delay things. At this time, Yao was convinced that Shun had extraordinary wisdom and talent, and planned to one day hand over the throne to him.

As Yao grew older by the day, he held tribal meetings according to the custom to establish his heir. Not only did they not want the beloved Yao to abdicate, but they were also worried about his health, and they could not bear to let him continue to worry about the affairs of the state, so they vigorously promoted his son Danju to succeed him as chief. Yao knew that Danzhu had no talent and no virtue, no ability to manage the country, and did not want to give power to him, so he said to the ministers: "If you give power to a talented person, then everyone in the world can get benefits, only Danzhu alone is damaged, if you give the power to Danzhu, then the people of the world will be damaged, how can I harm the interests of the people of the world because of my personal interests?" So he gave the position of leader to Shun, who had both moral integrity and ability, which was the "Yao Shun Zen Rang" that was passed down as a good story by later generations.

After Emperor Shun succeeded to the throne for 28 years, Yao died, and the people were particularly sad, as if their own biological parents had died, and sadly gave him filial piety for 3 years. In these three years, no song, dance, or music has been performed throughout the country, and people have used this way to pay tribute to and remember the leader of the Holy Ming in their hearts.

Read history wisely:

Tang Yao is the legendary Son of The Holy Tomorrow, like the cultivation of heaven, like the subtlety of God, like the light of the sun shining on the world, and is respected by posterity as "Good Teacher Emperor Fan" and "Ancestor of Civilization". Legend has it that he set up officials to control the seasons of heaven and earth, observed celestial phenomena, formulated calendars, honored the people, consulted the Four Mountains, used carp to control water, conscripted the Miao people, and implemented a fair criminal law. Yao implemented the above measures, so that all states coexisted in harmony and friendly exchanges, and together they formed the Great Alliance of Central Plains Tribes, and the rudiments of the state appeared.
