Tianjin, 31 May (Xinhua) -- On 31 May, this reporter learned from the Tianjin Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection supervision that Li Guowen, a former member of the Standing Committee of the Tianjin Municipal People's Congress, was suspected of serious violations of discipline and the law and is currently under disciplinary review and supervision and investigation.

According to public information, Li Guowen was born in February 1955, a native of Tianjin, began working in January 1976, joined the Communist Party of China in March 1975, and has a postgraduate degree from the Central Party School. Since joining the work, he has successively served in the western suburbs of Tianjin (Xiqing District), Jinnan District and other departments.

From May 2001 to December 2002, Li Guowen served as deputy secretary of the Tianjin Jinnan District CPC Committee and secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, from December 2002 to June 2006, he was the deputy secretary of the Tianjin Jinnan District CPC Committee and chairman of the Tianjin Jinnan District CPPCC Committee, from June 2006 to January 2007, he was the secretary of the Tianjin Jinnan District CPC Committee and the chairman of the Tianjin Jinnan District CPPCC Committee, from January 2007 to January 2015, he was the secretary of the Tianjin Jinnan District CPC Committee, and from January 2015 to January 2018, he was a member of the Standing Committee of the Tianjin Municipal People's Congress. He retired in March 2018.
