In the Battle of Taiyuan, the commander of the Nationalist Army was killed, Xu Xiangqian: Surely not dead, digging three feet into the ground must also be found

In October 1948, the War of Liberation had entered its third year, by which time the Liaoshen Campaign had begun, and the Nationalist army had lost troops in various battlefields and its morale had plummeted.

In the Battle of Taiyuan, the commander of the Nationalist Army was killed, Xu Xiangqian: Surely not dead, digging three feet into the ground must also be found

On October 5, the weather was very clear, and about 80,000 troops of our People's Liberation Army launched the Taiyuan Campaign under the command of Xu Xiangqian.

At that time, Taiyuan's defensive strength was more than 100,000 people, more than the siege force, but Yan Xishan's military command was too poor, and morale was low, and he was hanged by Xu Qiangqian.

Yan Xishan knew that his troops' offensive ability was insufficient, but his defensive ability was very strong, which was also where his courage to defend Taiyuan lay.

Coupled with Taiyuan's densely packed bunkers and strong fortifications, he firmly believed that even if Taiyuan was surrounded by the People's Liberation Army, there was nothing he could do about it.

Although the People's Liberation Army only had 80,000 troops, it had hundreds of thousands of people supporting the operation, so the morale of the combat troops was very high, and the People's Liberation Army launched an all-out attack on the outskirts of Taiyuan, sweeping away many of the strongholds set up by the Yan Army on the outskirts of Taiyuan in one fell swoop.

Seeing that the situation was becoming increasingly unfavorable, Yan Xishan was anxious, and on the side of the People's Liberation Army, Xu Xiangqian was also worried, because although our army occupied many places outside Taiyuan, the casualties were huge, and the effect was far from the expected.

如何减少伤亡、推进‬战役进程,这是徐向前思考的一个重要问题。

At this moment, news came from the inside that Huang Qiaosong, commander of the Kuomintang 30th Army, intended to revolt and surrender, and Xu Xiangqian was very happy when he learned the news, and specially sent General Gao Shuxun, the general of the Handan Uprising and Huang Qiaosong's old commander, to the Taiyuan front, let Gao communicate with Huang, and forwarded his own handwritten letter to him.

So who is Huang Qiao Song?

Huang Qiaosong was a native of the Wei clan of Henan, who was appointed as the company commander of Feng Yuxiang's guards in 1924, and because of his outstanding performance, he was appointed as the battalion commander, which was deeply appreciated and valued by Feng Yuxiang.

In 1930, Huang Qiaosong participated in the Battle of the Central Plains with Feng Yuxiang, and although Feng Yuxiang was defeated, Huang Qiaosong's military prowess was convincing, and he was promoted to the 81st Brigade of Gao Shuxun's 27th Division of Sun Lianzhong's Department as the commander of the 2nd Regiment.

However, after the Northwest Army was absorbed by Chiang Kai-shek, the officers of the Northwest Army were excluded, and it was not until 1937 that Huang Qiaosong was appointed brigade commander of the 79th Brigade and led his troops to participate in the Battle of Niangziguan.

At the beginning of the all-out War of Resistance, the Kuomintang army collapsed for thousands of miles, as the Northwest Army's Huang Qiao Song insisted on resisting the war, he was promoted to the commander of the 27th Division, and led his troops to attack Taierzhuang, and won the victory in the Battle of Taierzhuang.

Although the Battle of Taierzhuang was won, Chiang Kai-shek took the opportunity to weaken the strength of the Miscellaneous Army, and it was not important to the meritorious generals of the Miscellaneous Army, until the end of the War of Resistance, Huang Qiaosong was still the position of division commander, but changed units and served as the commander of the 143rd Division of the 68th Army.

After the victory of the all-out War of Resistance, Huang Qiaosong was appointed commander of the reorganized 30th Division, under the command of Hu Zongnan, and stationed in the Xi'an area, but Huang Qiaosong was not welcomed by Hu Zongnan, and in Hu Zongnan's group, Huang Qiaosong was a typical miscellaneous army.

Huang Qiaosong was in Hu Zongnan's group, just like the lone wolf in the wolf pack, charging ahead when hunting, and when he had to wait for other wolves to eat, it would be good for him to eat a bone, which made him very annoyed.

In the summer of 1948, Xu Xiangqian launched the Jinzhong Campaign, in which the People's Liberation Army annihilated 4 military headquarters, 9 divisions, 2 corps and a large number of local security teams totaling more than 100,000 people in Yan Xishan's army, yan Xishan's old roots were half spelled out, and Taiyuan became an isolated city.

Yan Xishan realized that it would be difficult to defend Taiyuan with his current strength, so he asked Chiang Kai-shek for reinforcements, but the Nationalist army was not enough in various battlefields across the country, and relatively only Hu Zongnan's group was relatively abundant.

After the Battle of Jinzhong, Chiang Kai-shek believed that defending Taiyuan would help contain the strength of the People's Liberation Army, and if Taiyuan was lost prematurely, the Kuomintang would be politically and militarily unfavorable. He agreed to Yan Xishan's request and airlifted Huang Qiaosong, who was not from Hu Zongnan's family, from Xi'an to Taiyuan.

Yan Xishan attached great importance to the reorganization of the 30th Division, and when the division commander Huang Qiaosong flew to Taiyuan, Yan Xishan personally set up a banquet to entertain and personally accompany him, and also equipped Huang Qiaosong with a special car.

In order to win over Huang Qiaosong and his subordinates, Yan Xishan restored the reorganized 30th Division to the 30th Army, which was the name of the pre-reorganization division, so that the main generals and officers were promoted to one level, Huang Qiaosong was made the commander, Huang Qiaosong's subordinate Dai Bingnan was promoted to the commander of the 27th Division, and the other officers were generally promoted.

At that time, Yan Xishan's army was hit hard by Xu Xiangqian, the number of troops was large, but the number was small, and the reorganization of the 30th Division was coordinated with the establishment of Yan Xishan's army.

During the airlift of the 30th Army to Taiyuan, it was raining in Taiyuan, and after the officers and men got off the plane, they all wore tarpaulin ponchos, which made the poorly equipped Yan Army envious.

At that time, the food of Yan Xishan's army was not good, and in order to do a good job in the food of the 30th Army, Yan Xishan set up a reception group for the 30th Army, and arranged for Guan Minquan, director of the sociable Construction Department, to make personal contacts to solve problems that were inconvenient to solve in public affairs.

In the Battle of Taiyuan, the commander of the Nationalist Army was killed, Xu Xiangqian: Surely not dead, digging three feet into the ground must also be found

After the siege of Taiyuan, the military food was mainly solved by air transport, Yan Xishan himself and the officers and men of his unit still ate aged "red rice", while the 30th Army enjoyed the same treatment as the remaining Japanese troops, supplying white noodles and rice.

Liang Huazhi also specially allocated a batch of tobacco soil to Guan Minquan for Huang Qiaosong's pastime. Due to the special status of Huang Qiao Song, Huang Qiao Song quickly became acquainted with the military and political officials in Shanxi.

At the same time, the Kuomintang's surveillance of Huangqiao Songbu became stricter, and Chiang Kai-shek sent Major General Zhao Wei to the headquarters of the 30th Army in the name of liaison, and Yan Xishan also sent colonels and staff officers to the 30th Army.

After the Taiyuan Campaign was launched, Huang Qiao Songbu lost his troops, and he had three deep worries:

First, the soldiers cannot be replenished, and one less dies.

Second, there is a shortage of weapons, food and ammunition, especially shells.

Third, morale is low.

Huang QiaoSong knew that Taiyuan was already an isolated city, and if he held it to the end, he would inevitably perish, and Huang Qiaosong's movements were known to my internal personnel, and Xu Xiangqian thought that he could plot against Huang Qiaosong, so he invited Gao Shuxun to do huang qiaosong's work.

1948年10月29日,高树勋在给黄樵松、戴炳南近千字的亲笔信中,列举了蒋介石军队在东北、华北等地节节败退,曾泽生‬、郑洞国率部起义的大量事实,指出:

"The liberation of Taiyuan is certainly not far away, once the city is destroyed and captured, what will be the situation?" It is better for the younger brother to make up his mind early, raise the banner of insurrection, resolutely return to the revolutionary side, and create his own future, so that he can also raise the banner of righteousness for the early liberation of the 300,000 people of Taiyuan, which is indeed a great contribution to the people of Shanxi."

Gao Shuxun was Huang Qiaosong's old leader, and Gao Shuxun's letter and Gao Shuxun's position in the CCP greatly touched Huang Qiaosong, and together with Xu Xiangqian's advice as a senior general of our army, Huang Shuxun finally decided to abandon the dark and surrender to the light, and made a specific plan of action for leading the uprising.

However, Huang Qiaosong knew that the uprising was big, and it was not an easy task to lead the troops to revolt, so he decided to consult with his confidant Dai Bingnan.

Dai Bingnan has followed Huang QiaoSong since 1932, and it was Huang Qiao Song who brought him up step by step, and Huang Qiao Song has always trusted him, and Huang Qiao Song has the grace of knowing him.

After receiving Gao Shuxun's letter, Huang Qiaosong consulted with Dai Bingnan in the dormitory of the East Pseudo Central Bank Station on Xixiaoqiang Road, and Dai Bingnan was the commander of the 27th Division at that time. Huang Qiaosong handed the letters from Xu Xiangqian and Gao Shuxun to Dai Bingnan and said:

"General Gao Shuxun is one step ahead of us, if we revolt, we can still maintain the original structure there, and you are still your division commander, is it not better than waiting for death in this isolated city?"

"Junza, don't get it right, this is a matter of losing your head!" Dai Bingnan resolutely disagreed: "This matter is too risky, in case it does not work, we will be completely annihilated." ”

"When am I going to take you over the fire pit?" Huang Qiaosong stared at Dai Bingnan a little angrily, "If you can't believe me, you should report to Yan Xishan." ”

Dai Bingnan has a deep heart, he has always thought that he is very capable, and has always coveted the position of commander of Huang Qiaosong, and Yan Xishan is also very close to Dai Bingnan, giving small favors from time to time.

When he saw that Huang Qiaosong had already made up his mind, he must have been unable to hold back, and if he was forced to stop him, Huang Qiaosong might have executed himself on the spot, so he might as well agree to come down first, so he immediately conjured up a thick look and said:

"Where is this, I have followed the military seat for many years, you treat me like a mountain, Bingnan is too late to repay, how can you do such a thing that is not as good as a pig and a dog?"

Huang Qiaosong is a peasant by birth, although he fights in battle, he is a straightforward and simple person, he is confident and majestic, but he is easy to trust others, he did not see Dai Bingnan's ghostly thoughts, which caused the beginning of the tragedy.

Huang Qiaosong was very happy to hear Dai Bingnan's words, and on November 1 he sent his spy captain Wang Zhenyu (that is, Wang Feizhong) to contact our army, and our army also sent Jin Fu, chief of staff of the Eighth Column, and Zhai Xuyou, a reconnaissance staff officer, as liaison representatives to the consultation.

After negotiations, by November 3, the two sides have completed all discussions on how to cooperate with our army in the liberation of Taiyuan and its specific deployment. The plan goes like this:

In the name of changing troops for defense, Huang Qiaosong transferred back the two main regiments deployed in the first line, and our army quickly entered the city along the gap left by the retreat of these two main regiments and then surrounded the Taiyuan Appeasement Office, and carried out military advice, forcing Yan Xishan to order surrender, otherwise it would all be annihilated.

In the Battle of Taiyuan, the commander of the Nationalist Army was killed, Xu Xiangqian: Surely not dead, digging three feet into the ground must also be found

In order to facilitate the identification of the enemy and ourselves, Huang Qiaosong also secretly arranged for the director of his office to produce 12,000 white cloth armbands to be used in preparation for the uprising. All these activities Dai Bingnan knew, and he was also thinking about this matter, after all, the stakes were very high.

In the early morning of November 3, Commander Huang Qiaosong summoned Dai Bingnan by telephone to his own residence in the military headquarters, showed Dai a reply from General Gao Shuxun's representative Xu Xiangqian and the Cpc Central Committee assuring him of the treatment after the Uprising of the 30th Army, and instructed Dai to return to the division headquarters to consult with the regiment commanders and act according to the orders.

Dai Bingnan promised on the surface, he knew that the arrow was already on the string, and it was time for him to make a decision, Dai Bingnan returned to the residence of the scissors bay division headquarters command post, and after thinking about it, he decided to inform Yan Xishan. Why did he choose that?

First, he still had a glimmer of hope for holding on to Taiyuan.

Second, his grandfather and father had both served in Shanxi for the old deployment of Yan Xishan, so he himself had a long history with Yan Xishan, and Yan Xishan often said to him: We are the relationship between our father and a lifetime. If you can hold the big tree of Yan Xishan and not worry about flying in the future, at least the commander of the 30th Army is none other than himself.

Third, his family is in Xi'an, and once there is an uprising, the family will be implicated.

To this end, he called his brother, the deputy commander of the 27th Division, Shu Dehou, who was unwilling to revolt, and was even more afraid that if the uprising failed and yan Xishan would be eliminated, he thought it would be better to inform. Finally, Dai Bingnan gritted his teeth and said:

"I decided to report this matter to Yan, if Yan intends to compromise, I will be unlucky, if Yan has no intention, I can only be sorry for Mr. Huang." In that case, the troops are still ours. ”

Subsequently, Dai Bingnan asked General Ou Dehou to summon Ou Nainong, the commander of the 81st Regiment stationed nearby, to his house, told Ou about the Huangqiaosong uprising, and mobilized Ou to support him to inform Yan. After the three of them reached an agreement, Dai Bingnan commanded:

"Let's change the post brothers, and die together." It seems that we are going to stop Mr. Huang! I will go into the city and report to the Sui Bureau, and you will command the team at home. In the future, the movement of troops will be subject to my orders. ”

Dai Bingnan got into the car and drove straight to the Taiyuan Appeasement Office located north of Xikou Road on Fudong Street. He first met with Yan Xishan's chief of staff, Zhao Shiling, and said that he had something important to see Yan Xishan, and Zhao said that Yan had rested and asked him to come back tomorrow.

Dai Bingnan said, "Tomorrow will be too late." ”

As soon as Zhao Shiling saw that the stakes were high, he woke up Yan Xishan. When Dai Bingnan saw Yan Xishan, he knelt on his knees, burst into tears, and said in a trembling voice:

"Commander Yan, I am guilty, our military commander wants to make trouble, let's find a way."

Yan Xishan helped Dai Bingnan up and said, "Speak slowly! ”

Dai Bingnan explained the situation in detail at the moment, and Yan Xishan was so frightened that he could hardly speak after listening to it.

After calming down for a while, Yan Xishan urgently ordered Zhao Shiling, chief of staff, to summon Sun Chu, deputy director of the Taiyuan Appeasement Office and commander of the Fifteenth Corps, and Wang Jingguo, commander-in-chief of the Taiyuan Garrison and commander of the Tenth Corps, to the room, and said angrily:

"According to Commander Dai's report, Commander Huang is going to defect, so you should quickly set up a guard and find a way to detain Commander Huang immediately."

At this time, it was late at night, but the courtyard of the Sui Prefecture was brightly lit, the gates were heavily guarded, and the military, police, and gendarmes were secretly covered at all the intersections of the nearby streets, and the whole taiyuan city fell into terror.

After consulting with Wang Jingguo, Liang Huazhi, Dai Bingnan, Tong Bocheng, chief of staff of the 30th Army, and Zhao Wei, inspector of the Kuomintang Garrison in the 30th Army, Sun Chu decided to arrest Huang Qiaosong in the name of convening an "emergency military conference."

When Tong Bocheng called to inform Huang that it was late at night to "attend the meeting", Huang Qiaosong said: "Sleep, you will represent me!" ”

At this time, Huang Qiaosong should be alert when he received the call, but he did not arouse suspicion, and Tong Bocheng said:

"Commander, this is an important emergency military meeting, and you must personally go to the Sui Bureau for the meeting."

At this time, Yan Xishan had already secretly arranged for Zhang Wenshao, a senior staff officer of the Sui Bureau, to lead the guards to wait in front of the lobby of the Sui Bureau, and when Huang QiaoSong got off the car with his bodyguard Jia Xiangchen, Zhang Wenshao said that he would ask Huang Qiao Song to wait at the General Affairs Office, and the meeting would begin immediately.

When Huang Qiaosong entered the General Affairs Office, the guards rushed up and handed over Jia Xiangchen's gun, and the other personnel in Huang Qiaosong's belt were also disarmed, and Zhang Wenshao said fiercely at this time: "I'm sorry, I was ordered to check the military commander." ”

In the Battle of Taiyuan, the commander of the Nationalist Army was killed, Xu Xiangqian: Surely not dead, digging three feet into the ground must also be found

Huang Qiaosong came to the meeting without any defense, and as a result, Gao Shuxun's letter on his body was searched, and Huang Qiaosong knew that the matter was irreparable, and he said indignantly: "A good man does a good job, the matter has come to this point, and it is up to military law to deal with it." ”

Yan Xishan then sent troops to surround the headquarters of the 30th Army, and Dai Bingnan had his cronies take control of the main generals of the 30th Army.

Early the next morning, when Wang Zhengzhong, who was sent by Huang Qiaosong to contact our army, led Comrades Jin Fu, Zhai Xuyou, and other comrades back to Taiyuan at the agreed time, passing through the first line of defense of the Seventy-ninth Regiment of the Twenty-seventh Division in Dongcheng, Dai Bingnan immediately ordered him to be detained and sent to the Sui Bureau.

Huang Qiaosong, Jinfu, and others were later escorted to Nanjing, where the Nanjing Puppet Ministry of National Defense Special Court interrogated Huang Qiaosong, Jinfu, and others. Although Comrade Jinfu was tortured, he did not spit out a word. Huang Qiaosong, infected by Jinfu, was also determined, and they calmly took up their righteousness in Nanjing in late November.

Dai Bingnan was appointed by Yan Xishan as the commander of the 30th Army because of his "meritorious service" in informing, and he received money beauties one after another, during the Spring Festival, Yan Xishan gave him 30,000 yuan in cash at a time, and at the behest of Yan Xishan, Dai Bingnan married Pan Derong, who looked beautiful and acted romantically, and Dai Bingnan was momentarily satisfied.

As a result of Dai Bingnan's betrayal, not only did the uprising be destroyed, but also The commander of the Huangqiao Song Army, Comrade Jin Fu, and many revolutionary volunteers were brutally killed and imprisoned, and the liberation of Taiyuan was postponed, the war was prolonged, and the people suffered more.

The vast number of officers and men of the 30th Army were not willing to give their lives to the Kuomintang, and when they learned that it was Dai Bingnan who informed them, they angrily made up a smooth mouth: "A meal of four dishes, unwilling to follow Lao Dai, eat steamed bread with green onions, willing to follow Huang Qiao Song!" ”

On March 29, 1949, seeing that taiyuan city was about to be destroyed, Yan Xishan abandoned his party and pawns and flew to Nanjing. The Taiyuan defenders also knew that the great disaster was coming, and they were all looking for a way.

At this time, Dai Bingnan was panicked, he knew that once Taiyuan was liberated, the CCP could spare others, but absolutely could not spare himself, after the People's Liberation Army launched a general offensive, Dai Bingnan knew that the general situation was gone, and he knew that Zhuge Liang had deceived Sima Yi with fake death, and he also decided to deceive the PLA by pretending to die.

On the morning of April 22, 1949, Dai Bingnan summoned the commander of the 27th Division, Shu Dehou, and the deputy division commander Bao Derong to his residence, asked them to run their own journeys, and let them cover themselves.

At about 8 p.m. that night, Dai Bingnan asked his bodyguard Li Shijie to escort him to the north room of the courtyard of No. 2 Yinyang Lane, Zhonglou Street, Taiyuan, where his brother-in-law Gao Zunyu was at home, and Dai Bingnan gave Li Shijie a gold ingot and said to him:

"You go back at 10 o'clock, first go around Dongcheng, and when you return to the military headquarters, you tell Deputy Division Commander Bao that I was 'killed' near Dongcheng, and the shells shattered the corpse."

After Li Shijie left, Dai Bingnan immediately gave Gao Mu a nod and said, "I recognize your old man as a dry lady." After saying that he had given her two gold ingots, after Pan Dehua, the wife of Gao Zunyu, returned home, Dai Bingnan also gave her two gold ingots.

Dai Bingnan took off his military uniform and changed into civilian clothes, so he hid in the wall of their house, trying to hide for a while and then waiting for an opportunity to escape.

After Li Shijie reported to Bao Derong that Dai Bingnan was "killed in battle," Bao Derong, in accordance with Dai Bingnan's prior instructions, went to the Appeasement Office at 2:00 p.m. to report to Sun Chu on his "death." At the same time, other close associates of Dai Bingnan spread the news of Dai Bingnan's death.

The internal line soon reported to the commander-in-chief of the offensive, Xu Xiangqian, that Dai Bingnan had been shelled and killed by the Plaster. Xu Xiangqian smiled coldly: Surely not dead, digging three feet into the ground must also be found.

Why is Xu Xiangqian sure that Dai Bingnan is not dead? Because the siege troops did not use artillery that night, the PLA had very few artillery and few shells, and if the artillery was used, Xu Xiangqian's consent must be obtained. And at that time, there was no use of artillery at all, how could Dai Bingnan be shelled and killed!

The Yin-Yang Alley on Zhonglou Street, where Dai Bingnan is hiding, is a dead end with only six door numbers, and because this alley is very small and very hidden, even if it is in Taiyuan for many years, few people know about this place.

In the Battle of Taiyuan, the commander of the Nationalist Army was killed, Xu Xiangqian: Surely not dead, digging three feet into the ground must also be found

And this alley is very shallow and narrow, even small flat cars are difficult to pass, not at all eye-catching, Dai Bingnan believes that this place, the People's Liberation Army will certainly not find for a while.

After the liberation of Taiyuan, most of the men and horses of the Yan army were captured by our army, and their cadres Sun Chu, Wang Jingguo, and Zhao Shiling were all captured alive, but there was no trace of Dai Bingnan. Xu Xiangqian ordered the Taiyuan Municipal Public Security Bureau to dig up the ground and arrest Dai Bingnan alive.

The Taiyuan Public Security Bureau searched for Dai Bingnan throughout the city, and Dai Bingnan in the Pan family was shocked, and he always felt that it was not safe to hide inside the sandwich wall. He found an antique standing cabinet at the base of the western wall of the outer room, which was relatively tall and very hidden, and it was a good place to hide. So he went under the cabinet and crouched down.

The Taiyuan Municipal Public Security Bureau quickly found Dai Bingnan's defender Li Shijie, so it chose Li Shijie as a breakthrough, but at first Li Shijie insisted that Dai Bingnan was killed by a bomb.

The public security bureau personnel were furious: "Li Shijie, do you want to be clear, our army did not fire artillery at all that night, you said that Dai Bingnan was killed by the shell, in what position was he killed?" Which part was injured and where was it buried? ”

The public security personnel told him about the policy of "being frank and lenient and resisting strictness, and told him that as long as they make meritorious contributions to atone for their crimes, they can not be blamed for the past, and if they make great contributions, they can also receive awards.

Under the inspiration of the policy and the huge pressure, Li Shijie finally explained the hidden address of Dai Bingnan.

After receiving the exact information, Cheng Guliang, director of the Taiyuan City Public Security Bureau, decided to let Deputy Director Huang Shishan personally lead people and use Li Shijie to lure the snake out of the cave and arrest it.

At about 9:00 a.m. on May 2, 1949, Huangshishan selected more than a dozen elite members of the defense team, all loaded with live ammunition, and under the guidance of Li Shijie, went straight to Yinyang Lane and blocked the street.

They knew that Dai Bingnan had weapons on his body, but the public security personnel were not afraid, and Huang Shishan personally led 4 or 5 capable team members to rush into the house quickly after Li Shijie stepped into the door.

This room was not very large, at this time, Gao Zunyu's family was eating breakfast, and when they saw the heavily armed team members rushing in, they hurriedly put down their rice bowls and let the seats pour water, which seemed quite attentive.

When Gao Zunyue recognized Li Shijie, he involuntarily said, "How did you come?" ”

Li Shijie said to Gao Zunyu, "You let him come out!" ”

Gao Zun became more and more panicked and replied hesitantly:

"No... Not here. ”

Li Shijie said, "It doesn't matter, call him out quickly, the regimental commander and division commander are all here." Frank and lenient, strict resistance, this truth does not need me to talk about it."

Gao Zunyu's eyes involuntarily glanced at the standing cupboard, and Li Shijie immediately shouted in that direction: "Commander, you come out!" The regimental commander, division commander and chief of staff are all waiting for you outside. ”

The crowd looked at the standing cupboard and immediately raised their guns just in case. Just then, a hoarse voice came from that direction:

"ShiJie! Are they all waiting for me? ”

Although the crowd heard the voices, the answerers could not see them. The guards raised their guns and shouted:

"Don't come out again, we're shooting!"

After a while, there was a noise under the Big Standing Cabinet, only to see Dai Bingnan crawl out from under the Great Standing Cabinet, only to see that he was wrapped in a half-new white towel on his head, wearing a worn-out black civilian dress, wearing a cloth belt, wearing a pair of rag shoes on his feet, and a long beard on his cheeks, and his face was pale.

After Dai Bingnan came out, he knelt down to beg for forgiveness to the comrades who were being arrested, and said in a loud voice: "I am guilty, I am guilty, I am guilty..."

The search team members found 10 double pieces of gold and a foreign watch from Dai Bingnan's belt, and the team members searched behind the cabinet, but saw the dried dung eggs the size of abacus beads he left behind.

When the team members handcuffed him and escorted him to the big truck, the prominent "commander" was so frightened that he could not even get on the car, and finally he was pushed and pulled to the car by the arrestees.

Cheng Guliang, director of the Public Security Bureau, immediately reported to Xu Xiangqian the news of Dai Bingnan's arrest, and Xu Xiangqian was very happy and demanded that Dai Bingnan and others be tried.

Because Li Shijie made a contribution to the public security organs to arrest Dai Bingnan, the Taiyuan Municipal Public Security Bureau rewarded him with 50 silver dollars, issued him a certificate, and released him back to his hometown. After being arrested, Dai Bingnan confessed:

"I was loyal to Chiang Kai-shek, flattered Yan Xishan, climbed up for promotion, betrayed my commander-in-chief Huang Junchang, who had cultivated me for many years, sabotaged the plan of the uprising, and committed unforgivable crimes against the people. I thought that on the day the city was destroyed, the Communists would catch me and would not spare my life, so I planned to hide and run away in disguise. ”

At 12:30 on July 8, 1949, the Special Court of the Taiyuan Municipal Military Control Commission held a public trial of Dai Bingnan, a major counter-revolutionary criminal, and Anthony Dehou, a major counter-revolutionary criminal, in the former High Court.

On the same day, the Taiyuan Municipal Military Control Commission, in the name of director Xu Xiangqian, deputy directors Luo Ruiqing, Lai Ruoyu, and Hu Yaobang, issued a notice sentencing Dai Bingnan to death and 10 years' imprisonment to 10 years.

When Dai Bingnan heard the verdict pronounced, he collapsed to the ground in fright, and then he was dragged into a large truck, and he could not stand up at all when he was wandering the streets, and at 4 p.m., at the execution ground outside the Xinnan gate in Taiyuan City, Dai Bingnan was executed. After Dai Bingnan was executed, the people of Taiyuan rejoiced, rushed to tell each other, and said in unison:

In the Battle of Taiyuan, the commander of the Nationalist Army was killed, Xu Xiangqian: Surely not dead, digging three feet into the ground must also be found

"If it weren't for Dai Bingnan, the villain who destroyed the uprising, Taiyuan would have been liberated long ago, and we would have lived a happy life earlier."

Dai Bingnan, the commander of the Nationalist army in the Taiyuan Campaign, was killed by Xu Qiangqian, which showed Xu Qianqian's superhuman wisdom and also showed his meticulous thinking, so he could use not many troops to annihilate far more Kuomintang troops than himself.
