In the later stage, with the continuous increase of 5G base stations, the speed of downloading the above games will be faster, which will reach 100 times that of 4G networks.
"For mobile phone users, the most intuitive experience is that the download speed is fast, but the impact of 5G networks on people's lives and social development is far more than that." Pang Zhe, deputy director of the network department of Jiuquan Branch of China Telecom Co., Ltd., introduced that 5G networks are characterized by high speed, wide connectivity and low latency. Not only is it fast, but it also has network latency of only one-tenth of that of 4G networks, and supports the interconnection of massive devices. Therefore, 5G networks have broad application prospects in telemedicine, urban management, education, agriculture, tourism and other fields.
For example, in the medical field, with the support of 5G networks, doctors can achieve remote precision surgery for patients in different places. In the field of urban transportation, smart parking blessed by 5G can greatly improve the current urban "parking difficulty" problem, and hand over the problems that originally need to be manually handled by intelligent devices, which can save labor costs and effectively solve the problems of low utilization rate and large manpower investment in traditional parking lots. At the same time, the owner can also quickly and easily complete the parking space, pick up the car and pay the fee through various types of guidance equipment configured by the system.
The reporter observed with the staff of the Jiuquan Branch of Telecom during the speed measurement in the urban area that 5G base stations can be found on the top floor of some buildings almost every few hundred meters, and such base stations will be greatly increased in the construction of the next few years.
It is understood that Suzhou District, as the first batch of counties and urban areas in the city to carry out 5G network construction, has been completed and put into use by 101 5G base stations so far, mainly covering Century Square, District Government Square, Oriental Plaza, Wanda Plaza; four streets in the urban area, Hantang Food Street; Gulou Commercial Circle, Fukang Shopping Circle, Times Commercial Circle; Convention and Exhibition Center, Bus Station, Hospital and other crowded key areas.
At present, in addition to Suzhou District, the construction of 5G networks in other counties and urban areas is also in full swing.
Li Yanglong, chief of the informatization promotion section of Jiuquan Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, introduced that the 5G base station in jiuquan city is mainly built by the three major operators of Jiuquan Telecom, Mobile and Unicom in conjunction with the Jiuquan Branch of China Tower. Since the start of construction in September 2019 to the present, 259 5G base stations have been built and 214 have been put into use, and by the end of this year, it is initially planned to invest in the construction of 800 more 5G base stations. At that time, the continuous coverage of Suzhou District, the main urban area of Dunhuang City and scenic spots above 4A level will be realized.
In addition, in order to promote the rapid development of 5G networks, the city has also set long-term development goals, by 2022, the city plans to build more than 3300 5G base stations, to complete the continuous coverage of the main urban areas above the county and urban areas, as well as the in-depth coverage of key parks, schools, hospitals, and scenic spots above the 4A level.
